The Beetlejuice character would be significantly different. More delicate somehow. I just don't see Depp giving the crass, belching, ass-scratching performance Keaton did. With a different very Beetlejuice you'd have a very different movie, for sure.

Hmmm, but you have to look at 'Sweeney Todd'...

That was pretty bloody, so I think Burton will go 'dark' with this hypothetical film just as he did with that one..i.e. 'Sweeney Todd.'

Oh I'm not saying Depp can't be dark or violent. Just don't think he can be as boorish and vulgar. Granted I haven't seen many Depp films, but I sure can't remember any that approach that kind of performance.
