I’ve really been enjoying the way that Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes has been adapting extremely recent comic stories. So it got me thinking… given how the past eight years or so of the Bendis Avengers franchise has basically one big mega story, how would that adapt into an animated series?
How would you structure the events within a television frame?
Season One:
Avengers Disassembled. We open with the old established team which is torn apart in the pilot and dissolved.
New Avengers. The new team forms after the breakout at the Raft.
House of M. Not my favorite story, but there ya go.
Season Finale Cliffhanger: “No More Mutants”
Season Two:
Decimation. Since this is the Avengers cartoon there would only be tangential X-Men stories.
Road to Civil War. I really loved Civil War so I would make this the entire season.
Civil War.
Season Finale Cliffhanger: Cap Gets Killed
Season Three:
The Initiative. Iron Man rules the world, the New Avengers on the run.
World War Hulk. A mid season multi-parter.
Who Do You Trust? The Skull Infiltration is discovered.
Season Finale Cliffhanger: The Skrull Invasion begins.
Season Four:
Secret Invasion.
Dark Reign. Osborn rules the world. Dark Avengers. Utopia X-over. Like Civil War before it, I really enjoyed this era and would spend a whole season on it.
Season Finale Cliffhanger: "Siege" begins
Season Five:
Siege.
Heroic Age. The good guys are back in charge!
Fear Itself.
Season Finale Cliffhanger: Thor "dies".
Season Six:
Shattered Heroes.
Avengers Vs. X-Men. The end of this story is the end of the series.
