What if a Jedi teathered him/herself to the Death Star and deflected the beam with their saber?

Thus rendering it useless? If they tried to send Tie fighters after them said Jedi could just crush them with the force, or send them hurling towards each other.

Thoughts?

The superlaser is also powered by kyber crystals...so it might push the Jedi to the target, breaking the tether. It would more be like a lightsaber hitting another lightsaber.

I'd like to say it would leave behind a blade shaped cross-section of undisintegrated Jedi, but really speaking it would disintegrate the hilt, destroy the kyber within and leave behind nothing but stray subatomic particles and an IR afterglow.

Believable given the Mary Leia Poppins space flight.. I am surprised RJ didn't add that in himself as a scene in TLJ. :guffaw:

Is that Episode IX's plot?

Sounds better than what's in all probability being filmed right now - which also involves a new death star that's the size of a galaxy in diameter just for Lando to scoff at the way Han scoffed at Death Star Three Starkiller Base, but furry little animated toilet brushes defeat the big first order for no reason other than plot convenience...

It depends on the Jedi the size of his weapon, because we all know that the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the powahh of the force.

The great thing about Leia's decompression episode was that it was really the very first time that SW seems to have noticed that the black background behind their ships is outer space.

I feel that the beam would simply have knocked the lightsaber out of the Jedi's hand and blasted his hand off...or shoulder.
