What I wanna smell like

I thought it'd be fun for those of us that have a signature scent to share a bit about it (even if it's just a favorite body spray) like what the scent is made of and why you like it.

For a long time I was a staunch anti-perfume kinda woman. They always were just too strong or had far too much musk. But then I fell madly in love with this pretty little yellow bottle:

According to their website it has top notes of strawberry, violet leaves and grapefruit. Heart notes of violet, jasmine and gardenia and base notes of vanilla, musk, and white woods.

It's a much less complicated scent out there and it just makes me feel more light and happy than other perfumes.

 Top notes, heart notes, base notes...is it a perfume or a concerto? :p

Me, I prefer Cool Water.

I almost hesitate to post it, because I like to think of it as my little secret, but my favourite cologne is Creed Silver Mountain Water.

I wear some other scents at various times, but that one is my favourite. I also really like Frederic Malle's Eau d'Hiver but it shares some notes with the Silver Mountain Water, and overall I prefer the Creed fragrance.

I use sandalwood scented soap and shampoo in the shower, instead of the normal stuff, when I want to clean up purty. I don't do cologne - I have breathing problems, and a very limited tolerance for that sort of thing. I like the sandalwood smell - pleasant, but manly.

I have 3.

Armani (just plain Armani, not that JC Penney Aqua Di Gio crap)
Versace Black Jeans
Jean Paul Gauthier

I'm picky about perfumes, because I really hate musks and even a lot of floral perfumes fade to musk ten minutes after you put them on.

For a long time my absolute favourite perfume was Flower by Kenzo. Unfortunately, it seems to be replacing Dior's J'Adore as the medium-budget perfume most likely to be worn by your friend's mother.

I was thinking of giving Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab a go. Anybody used their stuff?

My main scent quirk is that I always use coconut-scented body cream. Mmmm coconut.

I used to wear Ralph Lauren Romance for the longest time, now I've switched to Giorgio Beverly Hills. Smells of flowers and a fresh breeze in the sunshine to me, I'm not sure what the "official" description might be...

Yes I have about 100 bottles from Black Phoenix. I suggest you buy imps (samples) from ebay. They send two samples for every bottle you order so people are always selling them on ebay and it's a great way to try a bunch of scents with minimal investment. Because they are oils the samples last quite a while.

As to perfume itself, last count I had 134 bottles. Perfume and Star Trek are my two great loves. Current favorite, L'Artisan's Passage d'Enfer.

Oh and OP who posted about Daisy--try the edp which is in a very attractive black bottle. It's a little richer than the original, good for winter. I find the scent more realistically floral.

Oh and coconut body cream.. BBW has some great coconut products.

I have a notably pleasant natural smell according to several independent sources, so I try not to overdo it. "Sporty" scents tend to suit me best, but I have to find the few that don't overwhelm my natural warm woody musk. I used to have a bottle of something I picked up at a craft fair several years ago that smelled a bit like black tea, redwood and pina colada mixed together. I haven't been able to find anything like it since, and the only cologne I currently have is a bottle of A&F Fierce I got for Christmas a couple years ago and have only used a dozen times. I've played around with some essential oils trying to make something, but they never come out the way I want.

Romance is a good one, never really liked Giorgio.

Any woman who smells like honeysuckle can have her way with me.

Growing up, we had honeysuckle growing all over our front door trellis in the summer. Heavenly. I've loved the fragrance ever since. I'll go easy on you....;)

Kuumba has a wonderful Honeysuckle rose oil that smells amazing.

I also love Arabian Rose Oil by Kuumba. I bought myself one as a gift quite a while ago, and a little goes a long way.

Vanilla fragrances are nice, too; walking around smelling like a big chocolate cookie has its cathartic effects :)
:)

a little o/t but last time I was in our local ye olde hippie/head shoppe, they had a fragrance called "rastafari". I smelled it in the presence of one of the sales people and told her, "doesn't smell like any rastafarians I know".

Calvin Klien Eternity Summer is my favourite fragrance of the moment. I bought it in duty free at the airport on my trip out to Italy last year and it reminds me of that holiday and summer and sunshine, and really cheers me up.

for special occasions..a dash of "Old Spice" ..(Yeah it's not very original..but it beats High Karate anyday) most other times..just freshly bathed..soap, shampoo, toothpaste and mouthwash... hate the thought of stinkin'
