Oh, unwad yer panties. You're just walking into a forum filled with posters who've already heard these complaints from extremely persistent folks who are not generally as articulate as you.
Check out the "Am I the only one who didn't like the trailer?" thread or the "No, you're not the only one scared by this trailer" thread (both have dropped to page 2 by now). You're not alone.
Well, unlike that post, Beaker didn't post a rambling essay on the subject, so even though his opinions aren't that sunny, this post was less of a rant and more of a laundry list. I found that other thread blatently insulting.
Now
you need to unwad
yer panties. It's just someone expressing an opinion. And, as several responses to that thread, including mine, demonstrated - people are worried and have some good reasons for being worried. We've seen what was once a well-written, interesting series of science fiction television, the benchmark in fact, of SF tv, devolve into pablum. This fictional universe has had an incredibly long life due to the continuing interest and considerable creativity of the fanbase, which during the 1970s really worked the material through fanzines and conventions where they had conversations with the creators, into the most profitable franchise in history. This revival raises hope that some of that fun and creativity could occur again, which we would obviously all like to see happen. The trailer is pandering (not that this is necessarily a bad thing) and some folks would like to express their concerns that rather than new life being breathed into a beloved idea, we might instead get more shallow crap. It's only fair that they should be able to talk about that concern here without being beaten about the head by those who (apparently) want a uniformly positive response.
