What holodeck program would you create?

I kind of touched base on this in my Fair Haven thread, but I figure I'd toss it out there for fun. If you were on Voyager, what holodeck program would you create to spend your free time in?

I'd create a program where I worked at a meaningless job on Earth in the early 21st century getting paid little to nothing and receiving no credit for my accomplishments. Where my only haven of joy was going home to my family and watching sci-fi dvds when I had time.

I'd probably have a few. I'd have one based on Don Quixote. I'd also hang out in a holodeck jazz bar and program it so all the jazz greats of the 20th century -- Miles Davis, Billie Day Holiday -- would play every night. A Roman Gladiator program would be tons of fun, playing Maximus, of course, so I could yell, "Are you not entertained? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?" And a recreation of Easter Island is where I'd go to meditate. -- RR

I would probably re-create a really cool dance club and would invite the Voyager crew to a boogie night. I'd pick the songs to dance to and it would be one hot night of dancing!!!!

Well, if you insist...

I'd create a holoprogram which recreates the adventures of the first Enterprise, in which Trip's death is used to solve completely unrelated command dilemmas.

I like the luau program, and would use that or other vacation-type settings. I'd hold banquets -- eating Neelix' food would have to taste better with company and music and fun! I'd have a pet too. I think it would be too creepy having a holo-family or holo-friends, but a holo-pet would be a boon. And lots of books.

I'd have a bit of mountainous India where Tuvok can meditate and B'Elanna and perhaps Chakotay can come and meditate for a while from some piece and tranquility. Also some indian munchies won't go amiss

Maybe the Battle of Trafalgar with Lord Nelson, or I might like to try the Dixon Hill holonovels. Three Musketeers would be interesting, and I think I'd like a nice, calm, peaceful place to go to for relaxation and meditation.

Sex. Admit it, we'd all use it for sex.

And if you use it for that and disengage the safeties, you get a nasty surprise 9 months later.

I used to read about James Cook, the explorer who discovered Tahiti, Hawaii, New Zealand, the east coast of Australia etc. etc. in the late part of the 1700's.

I would have loved to be there and experience what it was like to sail so far from home and into completely unknown waters, but only for moment so a holodeck program that I could turn off when the going got too tough would be perfect.

They say sailing into the Pacific back then was 'bigger' than going to Mars today because they knew absolutely nothing about what lay in the Pacific back then. Today we actually know things about Mars. James Cook sailed into completely unknown waters and lived to tell the story - well at least on two of his three trips. He also managed to keep his crew healthy and relatively happy. I find that amazing and I would have loved to experience it instead of just reading about it.

Or maybe I'd create one of the last few years of Imperial Russia and go visit the last Tsar and his family.
