Gazing into your crystal ball, what future do you see for star trek??

Fourth option:
Movie disappoints but thanks to overseas revenue and DVD sales, recoups the investment and makes a modest profit.

Paramount decides another movie isn't worth the effort and decides instead on a new, tightly budgeted live action TV series.

I agree with Dayton. Animated series is a go on the internet while certain personnel at Paramount-Viacom quietly investigate fan productions in lieu of original ideas.

Option 1 just seems most likely to me. I just don't see Trek back on TV without some indication that the American audience is remotely interested in hard sci-fi first. And there isn't any.

I can't believe I just called Trek "hard sci-fi." I mean, compared to Lost, but...

I think it could spawn a couple more movies, but I don't think we'll be seeing Trek on our TV's until a new generation comes.
