What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 parters?

The Siege of AR-558 was awesome, but I think it could've been better with more time.

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

Not sure if I'd exactly stretch these out into a consecutive two parter but more like a For the Cause/For the Uniform/Blaze of Glory kinda thing.

Definitely woulda liked to see more of Laas...he was way too amazing of a character for just one episode. I'd like to see him fully convert Odo...he has rock-solid arguments and Odo banged and got in league with the female Founder even though she didn't have as good of arguments as Laas.

More should have been done with Quark's Cardassian lover...at least she should have came back and married him in WYLB instead of the Quark character getting shafted with absolutely nothing.

Would have liked to see an episode focusing on the Jemmy ships that the wormhole aliens magically disappeared, told from their perspective as opposed to they just disappear and are never mentioned again which is what we got.

I really liked that disassembler guy who hoodwinked Odo but Odo let him off the hook because he has a son..I think that's in Season 1...should have had another episode about him.

The Tosk and Hunters of course needed to be revisited.

Treachery, Faith, and the Great River could have been an amazing direct two parter. It would have been fascinating to see the Feds interrogating Defective Weyoun Clone. In fact, I love Jeffrey Combs' idea about having DWC help the Sisko win the war, which could have been a brilliant two parter in and of itself...now that would have been an ending to the war that I could have been satisfied with.

I woulda stretched out the Breen's superpowers more...they kill the Defiant in one episode due to spectacular superpowers, then the next episode they are suddenly nothing.

FBTS - certainly should be a two parter. Most of all, they needed to further develop additional uses for the amazing classic line: "Preach it, Brother Benny!", and the Dukat/Weyoun coppers.

Homefront/Paradise Lost needed more done with it regarding the O'Brien changeling and his pals...they just disappeared out of the series for no good reason. Lotta wasted potential there.

The serial killer Dax should have been developed and have actual consequences on Dax instead of pretending that he will have consequences but really they never come to exist.

Honor Among Thieves - woulda made that a straight two-parter...awesome episode as is but could have been all the better with 2 hours to love Bilby twice as much; felt kind of rushed.

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

There weren't really any single episodes I wanted stretched out on DS9. I would have liked though the Occupation arc to have lasted longer and would have liked the Final Chapter to be a heavily serialized 26 episode season as Behr contemplated until the studio only agreed to 10.

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

Perhpas the finale, actually, because it feels a little like they were trying to squeeze all the lose ends in the two-parter, yet it wasn't quite enough. With three episodes it would have felt less rushed in a way.

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

I would say that What You Leave Behind should have had 3 parts.

I would have liked that. Have the Cardassians inhabit the station for all of season six and even into season seven. I like it when shows get turned upside down.

I recall reading that they had wanted to do something along those lines and Paramount told them no.

"Profit and Lace"

That plotline should have been the "Final Chapter".

Hell, it could have been the entire season!

Rapture: Bajor vs the Federation over their Emissary/Captain.

I so agree! I wouldn't want it to be a two-parter, but a follow-up to this would have been great. Natima was a very interesting character and a wonderful friend for Quark.

You mean Croden from Vortex, right? He had a daughter, though. ;)

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

Hard to say, back when I was actually watching the shows I hated 2-parters, making me wait a week or even a whole season break, etc.

But now watching them on DVD, etc, it's nice to have episodes that span more than a single segment.

Re: What episodes would you like to have been stretched to 2 or 3 part

Another vote for the Siege of AR-5...

The A-plot of Meridian should have been longer, so it made a lick of sense Dax would go off with the random guy on a disappearing planet while still carrying a priceless symbiot.

Rocks and Shoals seemed like it was missing something, and there is a leap after To the Death- no only how Ometi'klan fared, but they blew off a chunk of the station, seems like that'd be a pretty big obstacle when they can barely make the station work at the best of times. But don't things go back to normal after? o.O

Hmm...

You must have really hated that Circle 3-parter! I remember the first time the 2nd-part came on, and I kept looking at the clock "uh, wait this isn't getting solved" ... "To Be Continued again?!" Although I watched DS9 from the beginning, the early 3-part episode was the one that really hooked me!

For the Cause

I really liked the whole Maquis thing, but we got no hint that Eddington was going to be a Maquis, and because we didn't see much of him and what we did see was a law abiding starfleet officer who would sabotage the defiant in order to maintain an admiral's order, that felt kinda like Torres being depressed in Voyager's Extreme Risk. It would have been nice to get some seeds that Eddington was going to turn on Sisko and it probably would have made the actions in For the Uniform and Blaze of Glory all the more powerful.

I kindof disagree. I think that knowing that the defection was coming would have ruined the impact of his turning and, potentially, have made Sisko's sense of betrayal less powerful.

I'm not saying they should have come out and told us specifically, but just more development of Eddington before the defection. I guess thinking about it now it was nice to see in Die is Cast and then Adversary how much he respected the uniform, but the next time we see him, he's going to defect. Just seemed out of the blue.
