What does this chinese/japanese script/characters read?

On the woman's arm there are two characters what do they translate to?

My brother thinks it's "Warrior" (the "Bushi" from Bushido).

The character on his right looks like"warrior." However, the parallel horizontal lines seem to be the same length. ("Warrior" is supposed to be longer on the top. But that could simply be a different "font" than I was used to seeing when I read books about Kanji.) However, i don't know what the other says, and therefore do not know the meaning of the phrase group.

The top image says "bushi" (=samurai). The bottom one says "ihsub" (=iarumas).
