What does God tell you?

think

Because I think I have to?

1. can you hear God?

2. If you could say hear God what might God say?

3. Would you believe you are hearing God?

4. Would you care that God was talking to you?

5. Should you write a book about this? or make a web site.. ?

6. If someone did do this would you believe them, in that they have direct contact with said "God?"

7. Also has anything strange ever happened that you can not explain except by assuming this "God" had something to do with it?

I have been debating this "God" concept since it's or my inception of it. but there is the constant dialog within and without of me that could cause me to be distracted from time to time and as such it is that I was distracted at this point in my devilish advocations as to what is next..

This means I lost my place in a book somewhere that was "almost" important to my debate of God/non-God ideas.

so what

*note to self := There is the idea that someone might answer these questions beyond the point of my dissertations is slim and might not occur till after I post the concepts that are foreign to current ideas. *

Oh, God, a demiurge, gremlins. Somebody's responsible, damn it.

can you hear God?

Yes.

If you could say hear God what might God say?
Turn off the damned ordered list bbcode.

Would you believe you are hearing God?
Yes.

Would you care that God was talking to you?
In this case, yes.

No.

If someone did do this would you believe them, in that they have direct contact with said "God?"
No.

God exists for you. Outside of yourself, that god(s) does not exist. Every person who has a god(s) has one that is different, even if they seem the same, because every person's god(s) is tailored to each person's need. Such a god or gods only has as much power and influence as one is willing to surrender to it. Beyond that power, such a god or gods is powerless.

Sometimes God tells me things like....

If you take a lamp and shine it toward the wall, a bright spot will appear on the wall. The lamp is your search for truth, for understanding. Too often, you assume that the light on the wall is God. But the light is not the goal of the search. It is the result of the search. The more intense the search, the brighter the light on the wall. The brighter the light on the wall, the greater the sense of revelation upon seeing it. Similarly, someone who does not search, who does not bring a lantern with him, sees nothing. What you perceive as God is the byproduct of your search for God. It may simply be an appreciation of the light - pure and unblemished - not understanding that it comes from you. Sometimes you stand in front of the light and assume you are the center of the universe. God looks astonishingly like you do. Or, you turn to look at your shadow and assume that all is darkness. If you allow yourself to get in the way, you defeat the purpose, which is to use the light of your search to illuminate the wall in all its beauty and in all its flaws, and in so doing better understand the world around you.

Other times he says stuff like....

Truth is a river and I am the mouth of the river.

He works in mysterious ways.

the truth is "wrong" because the case for it being a lie has more words then the case for the truth to be the truth, at times.

This means that true truisms come from the second level of meaning that everything tries to have.

As concerning said lamp and wall; the wall is God and the lamp is evil. usually.

Could being wrong help these conversations as to have a thing to point at in disgust?

I have special powers that you do not.

One is the powerlessness being what posers call a feeble attempt to align with positive and negative value absolutes, sorta.

Truth is the deer turd that is floating into the mouth of the river., or more exactly Truths are not always true and the true way gets in the way of the next, days true way, ,so I say, so what ,

God is the wrong word here sometimes other times it is just the correct thing that manages peoples concept of birth and death, the best that it can.

Yes, I do hear God, and he is telling me that you should mail me a $100 check. Do not thwart His will, think.

1. can you hear God?
Of course not.

2. If you could say hear God what might God say?
"For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect"

3. Would you believe you are hearing God?
Nope.

4. Would you care that God was talking to you?
Either the creator of all things is talking to me or I'm losing my mind. Either way, you bet I'm paying attention.

No, I think I'd rather spend my time helping people in need.

6. If someone did do this would you believe them, in that they have direct contact with said "God?"
God is everywhere of course, but I'm always wary of people who don't doubt.

7. Also has anything strange ever happened that you can not explain except by assuming this "God" had something to do with it?
No, nothing.

If you approach the Pope and tell him that God appeared and told you to do this and that, or that you can hear God's voice, he'd probably call for a straitjacket.

You badly need to get laid, Shran.

1. can you hear God?

No.

2. If you could say hear God what might God say?

Why did you stop listening to me?
3. Would you believe you are hearing God?

No. Unless it was AUDIBLE LOUD WORDS and I was not under any kind of chemical influence.
4. Would you care that God was talking to you?

If it was like above, sure.

NEVER.
6. If someone did do this would you believe them, in that they have direct contact with said "God?"

No, I wouldn't believe them for me but I'd believe they had something meaningful in their life. Whether it was self generated or not I would not know (or particularly care).
7. Also has anything strange ever happened that you can not explain except by assuming this "God" had something to do with it?

Not really. I might have said yes in the past but from where I look back now that answer seems a little self indulgent.

He's telling me to tell you to drink the Kool Aid.

Drink it.

Drink i-i-i-i-i-i-i-it.

Oh, he drank the Kool Aid.

The electric Kool Aid.

But seriously... if I started to hear God's voice, I would probably assume that I was losing my mind, and check myself into a mental hospital. There's one just down the road, so I might not even have to take time off work.

Whether or not I wrote a book or made a website would ultimately depend on the entertainment value of my own craziness. If I actually came up with some amusing and/or interesting stuff, then--yes.

I wouldn't believe someone else who told me they talked to God, and I've never seen anything that I thought could only be explained by divine intervention. I tend to agree with Spinoza, that such arbitrary divine interventions would make no sense. A miracle is only a miracle if it goes against the laws of nature. But if God exists, then the laws of nature are the will of God. Why would God go against his own will?
