What does Chris Pine SOUND like?

gastrof

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I was thinking...

One of the things contributing to Shatner's portrayal of Kirk was the timber of his voice. He SOUNDED like a man in command.

Does Pine have any chance at coming across the same way, or is he going to need a LOT of voice coaching to come even close?

A winey little B!tch....
Naw just kidding. I dunno...Maybe thats how they are gonna have Shat in the Movie. Have him dubb all pines lines with the original voice...

You might have heard his voice work in the Clone Wars movie...

They say he used his natural voice for that one. ;)

My wife was watching whatever Princess Diaries movie he was in and he sounded normal.

I wonder if he'll be wearing contacts because he's got blue eyes.

Kool avatar brains! :bolian:

Thanks. I figured it was such a rude and dismissive term from a candidate on the ropes that we might as well own it and use it to get the subject of it elected. ;)

maybe spock tampered with time a bit too much and one of kirk's parents changed? lol >_<

Maybe his new father will be...

the abusive alcoholic uncle!

Here's a new interview with Pine. He sounds perfectly alright; I think he'll do a fantastic job being the new voice of Kirk.

It's actually an informative interview. And he's been stumping for Barack Obama! I'm liking this guy more and more. :techman:

From what I have seen of Chris Pine's past films and in interviews, he takes after his father Robert Pine so much in terms of looks and mannerisms, yet also has that extra "something" that makes him stand out and hold his own with others in a scene, but at the same time doesn't upstage the others around him. He will make a fine lead for this film, and also allow the ensemble room to shine in this $150 million production.

When asked if people are ready to embrace the film, Pine says:
[...]I've seen post and whatnot going both ways - people either excited about it, or, you know, giving it the middle finger all ready[...]
Does Chris Pine read the Trekbbs? :D

Wil Wheaton used to post here for a number of years under a username, and he 7 years ago even linked one of my original posts onto his daily weblog.
