Roddenberry generally sounded like a lippy thirteen year-old kid when he talked about religion - not particularly nuanced or original.

This video - with a slight variation in narration - was made available to the stations that had signed up for the show in mid-summer of 1987. It was part of a press and promotion kit that was apparently aimed at providing presentations for potential local sponsors rather than intended to be broadcast in this form.

I managed to snag a copy of it at a convention at the time - we had all these VCRs plugged into each other in the lobby of some hotel in Baltimore.

A preliminary announcement concerning the first of many short teasers for the upcoming Christmas trailer for Star Trek: Discovery.

Star Trek: Discovery to now premier sometime in summer of 2018.

The problem with trailers, and especially teaser trailers is that people expect everything to be spelled out for them, and that's not the purpose of trailers. Don't assume every aspect of the show will be covered in a 30 to 120 second promo.I

It can be done. Just open the trailer with Rick Berman and Les Moonves on the bridge were Moonves introduces Berman as the new leader of Trek. Maybe toss in some comic relief by having one of them hold a tribble or a actor in Klingon makeup show up and offer them some gagh. Toss in a plug for CBS all access and you got yourself a trailer.

Terrible, doesn't look like Star Trek at all, that bridge at the end is far too dark and this Stewart guy has no command gravitas at all.
How is that a Klingon?!
