Of course I want it to be interesting and entertaining, but I also want it to inspire a whole new class of Star Trek fans.

Right now, in order to get more Trek, we need it to bring in more fans. Not satisfy those fans who want to elongate the secondary hull by a few centimeters, and want to hang curtains onthe windows.
