What do you snack on when you have no snacks?

Ok.. We've all been there.. It's midnight.. you've been watching the tube.. perhaps having a beer or two.. and suddenly, SNACK ATTACK!!!

The problem is, you have no chips, no popcorn, no peanuts.. nothing snacky at all..

So.. What does your creative mind come up with?

I usually have a few tortillas (flour) in the fridge.. My favorite grab is to heat up the toaster oven, put a bit of butter or smart balance on the tortilla, squirt some Sirracha sauce on it and sprinkle it with a bit of cheese.. Heat and enjoy..

What say you??

I have a 24-hour convenience store two blocks away, so this is rarely an issue for me.

That said, I'll usually just make some toast, have a bagel, or something like that. That's usually enough to take care of the urge.

I don't snack. I eat full meals or nothing at all. It's 1am, and I'm thinking of making some eggs.

I would probably eat slices of cheese, or slices of cheese and bologna rolled up together. I also tend to bite my nails while watching tv at night if I am not snacking or chewing gum. It's something I don't realize I'm doing but obviously I do since I have barely any nails.

I eat the same thing (sans butter) Sometimes I'll add a little salsa or shredded lettuce.

Usually, it's some kind of fruit. Apple, banana, orange, something like that. I don't have any "snack" at all in my home, except for some cookies.

I don't keep very many snacks. My favourite between meals munchies are peaches, grapes, and granny smith apples, and dried sweetened pineapple when I want something sugary.

Count me in the fruity lot -I try to have fruit in the house for when I am in the snacky mood. And of course I'm crackers about cheese so that's also an option, or nuts, I usually have some nuts -but they always leave a mess of nutshells so I tend to find something that's 'cleaner' to eat.

Fruit for me too.

There's always fruit in a bowl on my cupboard or table, washed and ready to be eaten. Usually apples, orange, bananas, kiwis, pears--and nectarines, plums, mangoes and peaches, etc., when they're in season. I'm really not picky when it comes to fruit. I probably eat around five-six pieces a day at least. Great snack.

I, too, almost always have tortillas, and I have a placa, so I'll go for a cheese quesadilla. Or, as i called them when I was a kid, tortilla cheese sandwiches. If I don't have cheese, then I'll go for the old college stoner stand-by, cinnamon toast.

Fruit is a great side, not something I grab at midnight if I have the munchies.

Melty, melty peanut butter toast is my snack-lack back-up. I like Smart Balance brand, crunchy, on whole wheat or multi-whole grain. With a glass of skim milk.

'Melty melty' describes it aptly since I wait by the toaster and spread it on just as it pops.
