What do you have your thermostat set to?

More a question for those in the NH where it's Summer and probably even moreso for those in the Midwest/parts of the US under the stifling heat we've had for the last couple of weeks (with temperatures breaking the 100-degree mark.)

My thermostat appears to be st at 74-degrees but it's hard to really tell as it's a crappy one that's not easy to read but a thermometer I have in the room says it's around 70 in my place all the time. Nice, cool, and crisp. I love it.

Most people I talk to keep theirs around 74 and in the case of my parents thermometers inside the house confirm it and it just, to me, feels stuffy and just not very cool and comfortable but you'd think it was an icebox in the house the way my mom and sister-in-law act.

Man, they'd hate it in my place.

However, my lease expires at the end of the month, so I've kind of decided I don't care so much anymore.

Since the temperature here in Las Vegas is about 4 million degrees during the day, I have to set my thermostat to a smidge above Absolute Zero in order to keep the house at 75-78 degrees.

Around 78-80 right now. Though our place tends to stay really cool even when it isn't on, so it's not always necessary. When temperatures start to go into the 100s we have it on most of the time, but unless we're going in and out or working outside, it's not really necessary to lower the temperature any.

I am pretty much always cold, and at work they have the AC on full blast all day long, and even though I bring a sweater, I literally have goosebumps the entire day. I have to go out in the 100 degree heat every couple of hours to "thaw" myself, otherwise my fingers start to cramp up from the cold and I can't type as well.

I just can't handle the cold, or especially cold air blowing directly on me, I really can't. It makes me physically unable to function or think straight! If I could turn the thermostat up to about 82, I think that would be perfect, but unfortunately my boyfriend disagrees.

I like it cold. Mine is set between 55-65 right now. On the plus side, I hardly use any heat in the winter.

I hold out for as long as possible during the day, since I'm home most of the day, with windows open.

Setting is 80-81 F, but sometimes we drop it to 79 F. You'd think we'd have a low power bill, huh? Last month, with the AC used this sparingly, PG&E bill was around $200. Yeah. They really rip us off here, calculating "average use" in frikkin' springtime! I hope the PG&E executives burn in hell--and have to pay the gas bill for the flames!

God, I need to get into watching that series.

No A/C required here in the UK (on the very rare occasions it does get genuinely hot, it's a matter of fans and open windows; never lasts long enough for heat to be a serious issue).

In winter, it's set to about 22/23C (~71-73F) but I get cold at night, so nudge it up to just under 24C (~75F) when I go to bed. Due to location of the thermostat, the temperature in the rooms tends to be, at a guess, a couple of degrees lower than what the thermostat says. So maybe about 21C during the day and maybe 22/23C at night.
