What do you do for a living?

OwN

Ensign
Red Shirt
Im just curious about what people do for a living, sometimes personal network connections come out of unexpected places.

I have a degree in marketing, and am in the process of starting a residential development company.

Anyone else?

Project manager and logistics consultant. We love logistics. (UPS can kiss my ass)

Self-employed with a portfolio career.

Psychiatrist, life coach, course organiser, tutor, sometimes a bit of trading, and a few other things too. I like the variety, the control over my schedule, and the part-time nature of the workload. :D

I never intend working for an employer ever again if I can possibly help it.

College student (marketing major) and Collector of Unemployment Benefits. Once I finish my degree, I'm planning on starting a marketing firm for unsigned musicians.

Also, starting next week, I'm designing and constructing chainmail bikinis for models and strippers.

AMEN TO THAT!!

I know, right? :D

I mean, self-employment has its own hassles too, but at least you feel proportionately rewarded for the work you do, instead of alternately feeling underpaid or overworked. And that change goes a long, long way. Good luck with your plans!

Interesting concept; sounds pretty challenging, but potentially fun!

 good niche

I am currently getting ready for a fall semester at Chattoochee Tech in Georgia for A networking and computering programming diploma.
Funny thing-I hate math.

I listen to music and surf the internet waiting for an alarm to go off telling me somethings wrong.

Scientist.

I was studying how cells decide what they want be when they grow up. Now, I'm working on improving the efficiency of cloning.

I'm a technical supervisor at a customer's site. My folks service equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices (CPUs, Chipsets, RAM, etc.).

Student for hopefully years upon years upon years to come. Basically I don't making a living right now and don't intend to for quite some time! Man, that's depressing.

At the moment I'm a Teaching Artist. I teach a literacy intensive course to at-risk kindergarten through 2nd grade students through the visual arts, music, drama, and movement. I'm also an illustrator, and am thinking of starting an Etsy store for my paintings, illustrations, and various crafts.

After 5 years teaching, however, I realized it is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I'm preparing to go back to school for a doctorate in neuroscience.

Not really. Learn all you can, reach for the stars. You've got one life, live is as you wish.

Homer Simpson? :D
Digital music satellite broadcast uplink tech.

Yeah, I actually remember from the last (hundred) threads like this, but your description was amusing enough that I felt obliged to do the obvious line.

... a stake in an industrial mathematics consultancy.

This sounds intriguingly obscure. What sort of work do you get asked to do?
