What do you do for a living?

Systems Engineer (Electrical engineer by training) for the US Navy. Submarine communications work, mostly...

Well, turns out I spoke too soon. I should probably have realised that 'confirmed place' doesn't mean what it means to other people within the public sector and especially within the Police. Suffice to say I will be remaining a volunteer PC for the foreseeable future; luckily I had another post lined up in Criminal Intelligence, again with the Force. Assuming that doesn't screw up too, I should start soon. I get to be Chloe O'Brian
Anyway, apologies for bumping the thread, I felt like being snarky and it didn't deserve it's own thread. :D
Sorry to hear that, but did this for a while too - best grounding I had for the Police overall. Know your nominals, know your ground, know the patterns, know your job.

Intel units are oddly fairly high pressured places, but with a brilliant learning curve.

I'm a draftsman for a Civil Engineering Firm. I work on AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.

I'm a civil engineer for a civil engineering firm. If you're in fact my CAD guy and the reason my markups aren't done is because you are spamming away here...know that I would have gotten you those markups 2 hours earlier if I wasn't spamming away here.

I've got AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 up and running as we speak. I kinda like it now that I'm used to it. I love the way thnigs update on fly.

I thought you hated freedom and the troops? That's the impression I got in TNZ anyway ;)

That's what you get for listening to the "if you don't toe the Republican line 100%, you're a terrorist" crowd. Even if you tell them you don't believe that, or are a registered Republican yourself, etc...

Currently I am on permanent disability after being in two car accidents within 24 hours some six years ago. Before that my primary career was as a salesman of tires and auto repairs, what is called a "service advisor". But I have also done some Mac IT freelance work for a friend's computer repair business, as well as having done some game design and play testing, as well as being a cartoonist.

I used to work for a major retailer and am now back in school ,to hopefully find a job in another field .

I just got another job so I guess I can post again.

I am a newsroom production assistant at WVUE-TV New Orleans. I also work as an assistant office manager at a physical therapy clinic.

Well, I was second in command of a small corrections agency from which I planned to retire in a few years. Last month my position, along w/ quite a few others, was eliminated. So the answer is... I don't do anything for a living. I'm job hunting and living on unemployment insurance.

Wow, so many different fields represented here..

For my self, I'm a Chemical Engineer. I'm a Plant Engineer at a adhesives plant for the "big" corporation, I am also doing "Senior Project Engineer" work setting up a process that was transferred out of our plant to the Southern US. Just Friday, as it was, I found out that I'm also going to be taking over the Q.C. Managers position (due to downsizing) for the adhesives production at our plant (most likely because I'm the only one left with anything that resembles a chemistry degree) in mid-January.

Needless to say, I'm waring way too many hats these days.....

Right now I sponge off the government, but I am studying to be a pharmacy technician. I have the urge to say something derogatory about myself, but I'll actually refrain this time around.:sigh:

I'm a high school English teacher. This year, I teach 9th grade English (honors and traditional). If you want the full, extended resume, then I'm also the school ASB advisor, Poetry Club advisor, school newspaper co-advisor, and part-time "Shoulder to Cry On."

It's the most demanding thing I've ever done with my life...but it's also the best. There's nothing like being influential in the life of a kid.

Congrats!

I just got done with a taping where NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden and Assistant Administrator Lori Garver congratulate Nichelle Nichols for some award. At the end they both ad libbed a Vulcan salute.

I love these people. :adore:

And being the subject of fantasies for those 9th grade boys. :p

I work as a fun raiser for Telefund, Inc, raising money for progressive causes.
