What do you dislike about your home?

I start by saying I am thankful for my home... I grew up in a trailer in the woods, and we lived in an even smaller trailer before my parents could afford that one, so I try not to complain too much about the house I live in now.
However, I can't deny that our kitchen is tiny. It's smaller than my mom's kitchen in the trailer. It's smaller than the kitchen I had in my old apartment. I have very little counter space and it drives me insane when I try to cook. In addition, the stove is tilted backward slightly, so all pots lean toward the back of the burner and food is unevenly distributed.
I love to try new recipes, but the kitchen makes things quite difficult.

I HATE that. We had one that was incredibly loud and shook the upstairs. I was going to cut the wires when I realized it was plugged up to an outlet that was in the ceiling just inside the fan cover.
Quick fix.
You know, this thread has made me consider just how much I love my current home. We have plenty of space without it being too much, I like the open floor plan, and we haven't had any major issues to fix. It's a townhouse but we can't hear our neighbors and have our own entryway. The neighbors aren't a bother in any way, and the area is relatively safe.
There are minor things, like the fact that the carpet is terrible. But really, it's a lovely home and I'll be very sad to part with it.

I hate that part of my house is over 100 years old, part is over 60 years old and part is over 30 years old. With that kind of age, it's no wonder it's a money pit.
I hate that I have such odd sized rooms. My kitchen, den and rec room are tiny, yet my living room is long enough to fit a bowling alley in. And I hate the size in general. Too many rooms that I don't even use.
I hate my crawl space. I'm in the process of replacing my furnace. Instead of putting it back in the crawl space, I'm adding on a small room for it (too bad none of the existing rooms would work).
I hate the decor in all of the downstairs rooms. Kelly green bathrooms and a blue kitchen just screams 1980s. I'm in the process of remodeling that, though.
On the plus side, I love my location. Outside of dealing with some bizarre DNR regulations (I'm on a national scenic riverway), it's a great place to be. For my yard, I have a hay field, acres of woods and a beautiful river. Makes the house itself worthwhile.

My house is built on 3 floors. It's generally open plan with 2 bedrooms. It has an integrel garage that has been converted to a third bedroom. The conversion was well done but the decor is appalling. It's covered in awful artex. When we moved here we dumped all our stuff in that room (we're fans, we have loads of stuff) and so we've never really had the chance to redecorate that room. As a result it's become a bit of a dumping ground for anything that doesn't have a home elsewhere, and I hate it so much that I don't even go in there any longer. Also, our home doesn't have central heating. We have one heater in the lounge and that's it. My husband and I don't really mind. It's cheaper to run and we have an eye on our carbon footprints. I am embarrasssed when friends visit though, because I know they find our home to be inhospitably cold! 
After having said all that, I work with homeless people every day of my working life, and I know that my home is a little palace and I am fortunate and grateful to have it.

I'm generally happy with my home. I've lived here over 6 years now and it feels very comfortable.
Having said that, there are things I would change if budget were no issue. In fact, I'd probably gut and redo the kitchen and at least one of the bathrooms and lay down new carpeting as well as repaint or wallpaper the walls. But in truth, the real solution would be to move somewhere a bit larger in the same area and do all of that there, but I really can't be bothered with the hassle of moving any time soon. Maybe in a few years time.
I guess that means I really must be happy with my current place!

I dislike, more then anything, that for some reason the warm water in the shower has almost no pressure the majority of the time. It really really irks me.
Other then that it's just the fact that it's not in a warmer land that really bothers me.
Oh and RoHo and tsq I can sympathize! I share the apartment with my brother and the only one who cleans is me. He at least does the dishes but that's about it.

If I listed everything I dislike about my current home, the list would max out the character count. I really dislike this house. So, I'll limit myself to three things.
1. The kids' bathroom might be 4 ft by 4ft. They have no bathtub, only a stand-up shower. So my son has to come to the master bathroom to bathe.
2. There is very little counter space in the kitchen. I do not have enough room to cook easily, let alone teach my kids to cook.
3. The laundry/utility room is nasty, dank, crowded, and dark. The washer and dryer are on separate walls, and there's very little room for storage.
We are renting, so fixing these issues isn't an option. But, I am grateful that we are together and have a house to live in.

I have built-in large double wardrobes in both bedrooms, as well as other assorted chests of drawers, etc. I use the wardrobe in the spare room as storage for "off-season" clothes.
Despite that, I have hit the limit in terms of clothes storage, and in truth, that's the main reason for of the "move somewhere a bit larger" part of my post. But on the other hand, hitting the limit means I now only buy something new when I sell off something older, so it's forced me to be more selective. I'd pretend that it saves me money by being more ruthless about what I buy, but the truth of it is that I just buy more expensive but fewer items instead. Mind you, that does mean my wardrobe will now upgrade naturally over time, rather than just getting ever broader.
Count me in the neat freak crowd. This time of year, when it's cold and dark outside, Friday night is house cleaning night. So we can have as much weekend time to spend outside.
We're hardcore about cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, and laundry. I don't care about a couple of shirts on the back of the couch, or a few dog toys spread about.
But, I think a dirty fridge, sink full of dishes, microwave, toilet, shower, etc. are totally gross. I even got a vacuum specifically meant for homes with pets because the dog and cat hair gets voluminous.
Basically, the house is one step above being able to eat off the floor, and one below trying to show the place to prospective buyers.
Our bathroom has no outlet, not that I use a lot of things that require an outlet but I would like the option of straightening my hair in the bathroom. The fan is also very poor, it takes 5-10 minutes to warm up and actually start working and when it does get going, it barely works. Result? Whenever my roommate and I shower there's a nice thick layer of condensation on everything!
Along with so many others in this thread I'm pretty much the only one that cleans between my roommate and I. She leaves pots and bowls of noodles and cheese out and doesn't close or put back the cereal. I've also tried not doing the dishes for a while to see if she'll step up but that's a no go. She also has 2 cats and while I like one of them she rarely sweeps the floor (which they make a mess on, food, cat litter, etc...) I'm actually convinced she has some minor form of ADD because she'll start something or get something out and just leave it there. Our small table is covered in her crap and the floor has her things and clothes all over it. She came in the other day and said, "This place is a mess!" and I was tempted to say that it was all hers but I didn't. She also has yet to buy her cats a scratching post so they make due with the carpet. Something tells me we won't be getting our deposit back.
If I didn't clean either, the place would be a massive pigsty.

I generally love our current apartment, and it's a shame that my wife and I will have to move in August, but the one thing that drives me absolutely bonkers is our kitchen. It's woefully inadequate, size-wise, with one counter space, by the sink, that's about two feet by two feet, and another to the left of the range about the same size (which is largely taken up by the spice rack and other miscellaneous foodstuffs.
I have 10.5 acres half wooded, with woods, then split to grass, then woods. The house is 1450sqft and in dire need of a lot of work. I hate the house as it's on a slab, was poorly built in 1983, and that my ex-wife insisted we HAD TO BUY THAT HOUSE (friends of hers live over the hill). I keep having mixed emotions of selling and moving to town or razing the existing structure and building a nice, quaint split level using steel framing, hydronic heating, and either atop a basement or crawlspace.
The only issues I have are with the kitchen, bathroom, and closet. Like some of you, my kitchen is pretty small. Granted, I live in a 1 bed/1 bath but I'd like a little more counter space. I also am another sufferer of the automatic bathroom fan. Like RoJoHen I don't see the need to have a fan on while brushing my teeth or shaving, etc. The closet space, or I guess storage space in general, of my apartment isn't very impressive either. The biggest one is a pantry that runs the length of one side of my apartment but it's not very deep. I can only cram so much in there so for the bigger items I have to stuff into either the closet in the foyer(which is tiny), the bedroom closet(Not so much a "walk-in" as a "step in"), or the laundry room(in which the washer and dryer take up most of the room).
Basically I just need to get a bigger apartment, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Reminds me of another thing I hate about my house- not enough outlets. And the outlets aren't where I need them. Guess that's just one more thing you have to put up with when you have an older home.
My old house had plenty of outlets, but they were only 2-pronged. We had to go out and buy a bunch of 3-prong adapters for them.
-hasnt cleand room in quite a few months...- I dont like that my room is so small and that I dont have an aircon. I live in a valley and summers here are horrendous.
