What did you do this weekend?

Have you had yourself tested for various allergies including paint, Miss Chicken?

I am allergic to paints, varnishes, most perfumes and deodorants, some cleaning products etc.

I am not allergic to many things that trigger asthma in certain other people such as pollens, or animals.

Smoke, especially wood smoke, is also a bad trigger and is hard to avoid in Tasmania where wood heaters are a major method of heating houses (though the government is trying to discourage people from using them).

I shot a commercial on Saturday. It's about bread. Hard bread.

Today I watched the dogs I guess, and watched the two firs episodes of The West Wing 5th season since I managed to miss the first when it was on TV and because my cousin who's staying over this weekend hadn't seen further then the end of the 4th season. While I think season 5 was the shows weakest, it's still a fantastic show and some very good stuff in those two episodes.

Troughout the weekend I've been lusting for a certain female. But I can not do anything about it. Or rather, if I do it will not do anyone any good.

I pretended I was going to work on a paper that was 40% of the grade of one of my classes (and is due tomorrow). Instead I have been sucked into writing on this board all weekend.

Friday - Finished working about noon. Two hours of racquetball in the afternoon. Met the Friendly Angel at the local pub afterward. Hung out with the family at night and watched a movie.

Saturday - Played racquetball from 7:30-10:30. Went to the supermarket. Made lunch for the family. Watched UConn lose to Michigan State (ouch!) at night.

Today - watching my daughter as my wife and her mother and sister went to NYC for the day.

All in all a nice weekend.

This weekend I have been experimenting with graphics. I made some isometric graphics but became a little disappointed by the overall flat appearance of them. Then I wondered what it is that real 3D drawing offers over isometric with regards to this 'flat' appearance, and decided it was probably lighting.

I tried to find some really good isometric graphics, that convinces the observer that it is real 3d, but I failed to find any. Then I looked through some real 3d graphics and thought about the significance of lighting and shading within them, and how that affects the flat appearance of the textures.

I realised that even real 3d drawing will look flat if the lighting isn't done properly. So I learned that it's all in the lighting. Now I'm thinking how those effects of lighting could be mimicked in isometric drawing.

The only other notable events was that I made a pizza (I made my own bread), which although nice, it wasn't one of my best results. Also, discovered while tidying my computer desk I still had some incense sticks (which were in one of the draws), and decided to burn one of them. Then I wondered if it's as harmful as passive smoking to do that.

:)

Saturday: Went to bank to cash paychecks only to find out that they had an error in their account. I'll have to go back again during the week. Then I went to my coffee shop to get some lunch. After that I popped over to my comic shop and got this week's stash. Once I came back home I called up my employer to ask what was going on with the account and he told me he'd fix it. I took a nice long walk which was quite restful. When I returned home I read and had some dinner while watching a couple episodes of the X-Files. I've been going through the series again. Before going to bed I did a little bit of school work.

Sunday: I did some yard work for a few hours with my dad. I did some exercising, had lunch and did some more schoolwork. I popped on here a couple of times (I did the same yesterday). I had dinner and am now considering going for a walk.

Friday I played Guitar Heroe II till 3:30am with a bunch of azns..

Saturday I went disc golfing and watched some DS9 at night after dinner with friends

Sunday I went disc golfing and did some schoolwork!

Friday, clipped the hedges, trimmed trees, pulled some weeds, went over to Hubby's friend's craphole apartment and played board games until 2am-ish.

Saturday--not much at all. Washed my hair, got the mail, did a load of laundry and took my mother-in-law out to dinner. Watched some TV.

Today--Went to Home Depot and picked up wooden boards to fix the fence. Watered front yard, scrubbed shower. Beat my old score on Peggle. (YAWN) Will probably go to the grocery store if Hubby ever gets the hell home.

Went shopping on Saturday - picked up some off-white jeans & tan chinos from Loro Piana, and red cotton trousers from Zegna, plus a few Ralph Lauren items to resell online.

Went out with a friend for a walk & tea earlier today. Lovely day for it, with lots of sunshine.

Also got some new shirts delivered today, but unfortunately the collars on some of them were the wrong size so they're going back to the maker tomorrow to be fixed. Hopefully, should get them back before Easter, or just after.

Out of interest - just how large is the wardrobe you keep all your clothes in?

Sat outside a stranger's apartment in an ugly green car. Tried to get in, but decided to bide my time.

Not large enough, unfortunately.

My stuff's split across two pretty large wardrobes, one in each bedroom, plus a large chest of drawers. The wardrobe in my bedroom contains current season suits, jackets and trousers, plus my business shirts. The one in the spare bedroom holds the off-season suits, jackets and trouser, plus my overcoats and scarves which live there all year round.

The chest of drawers has a mix of other various items - underwear, socks, sweaters, casual long and short sleeve shirts, T-shirts, etc.

I regularly sell off or bin or donate older items, but somehow I still never have enough space. I've thought about buying another wardrobe, but really, I have nowhere to put it, and I'd only end up filling it quickly. Better to live with the space pressure, as a some sort of way of reducing my purchases.

 she's going to kill you when she reads this.

Yesterday my friend called me saying they needed some help with the Nationals/Orioles exhibition game. They needed a "spotter" which is the guy who helps out the PA announcer and scoreboard crew with who's warming up in the bullpen and any defensive chances.

So, in the middle of a recession, I got another job. SUCK IT WALL STREET.

This morning I woke up early to watch some friends run in a 10k street race. Afterward I got some brunch with everyone, then came back home and did some laundry.

All in all...and eventful weekend.

Saturday: Worked all day. Came home. Went to bed. Sunday: Worked all day. Came here. Right now I'm about to go abuse myself, and then I'll have to come back and update my response in the masturbation thread.

Took the lady to a spectacular French bistro. We dined on exquisite appetizers of perfectly roasted beet with crisp greens, and a light butternut squash soup, main course of red snapper, a fine chardonnay, a scoop of chocolate ice cream as black as the night and the best and strongest real Irish coffees I've ever tasted.

Naturally I paid....with plastic.

Saturday:

-Took my daughter to a Birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese.

-Went over to my father's house to make use of his Turbo-Tax... discovered that I had made an error while inputting my taxes the first time and that I'll be getting $1200 more than I thought. :techman:

-Went to the used bookstore and traded in a couple of old books. I let my daughter pick out two books and I picked up a copy of I, Robot: The Illustrated Screenplay for myself. Total cost= $3.25

-Ate a rather nice pre-prepared dinner from Publix. Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, rolls.

Sunday:

-Made Breakfast for the family- eggs, cinnamon rolls, toast

-Watched a video with my daughter and read her new books to her.

-While daughter was napping, I lounged on the couch and read my new book.

-Watched the latest episodes of Ashes to Ashes and Terminator:SCC.

-We went and met the in-laws for dinner at a local BBQ restaurant. Very good.

All in all I've had a fabulous weekend.

This weekend I was supposed to go to dinner, do a bike ride, blah blah blah but I was sick with a cold all week so decided to lie low. Friday night I slept for TEN hours. It was quite decadent. Saturday I worked on an electronic newsletter project. Today I was starting to get bored with lying low so went out for some retail therapy with a friend this afternoon. :)
