What Day Will You Go Watch STXI?...

Probably Friday matinee on the day it comes out, since most 9-5ers will be at work and kids will be in school.

Maybe this movie needs to be seen with a full house horror movie crowd to fully appreciate it.

"Don't go in there, redshirt!"

"Oh, man, did you see the way the Romulan just wasted his ass?"

"No! If you don't reverse the singularity pulse array, you'll never get the warp drive going! What are you thinking, man?"

If I feel up to it, I'll got Thursday night. Otherwise, anytime opening weekend, but preferably sometime that Friday. Opening day crowds usually get the jokes no one else does (for any movie.) I wanna feed off of that energy.

I'll see it sometime during the first week or two that it's out, but most definitely not the first day. More than likely, it will be 'the first day my nephews are successful in getting me to take them'. Which will be a matinee showing on a Saturday or Sunday....either the first or second weekend.

I'm not interested in sitting shoulder to shoulder with a mob of crazies on opening day.

The mob of crazies is part of the fun moviegoing experience.

That, and sloshing through the cine-muck to get to your seat.

And you haven't lived until you've seen a movie with someone talking at the screen through the WHOLE FILM -- in the seat behind you!!! Or the ever-wonderful kids kicking the back of your seat repeatedly...

But nothing compares to the time I went to see Star Trek VI and was mooned by a gi-normous BUTT CRACK that eclipsed the whole movie screen!

Oh what bliss!

Sure ya don't wanna be there on opening night?

Tempting as you make all of that sound.....erm....no.

And I was originally only thinking about the annoying kiddies kicking my seat.

As Q would say --

"The theater is filled with wonders you cannot possibly imagine. And terrors to freeze your soul!"

:guffaw:

For me, it'll probably be sometime after the big premiere. More than likely I'll be in Missouri visiting relatives by the time I see this. Both my dad and my uncle are full fledged trekkies and this will definately be the movie we'll go see if we plan on going to the movies at all. :bolian:

First showing on opening day - if it is a midnight Thursday showing, so be it - I am there. It has been a tradition for me since TMP, every movie, always the first showing.

I Like Children, They Taste Good In Soup...

Any plans for a Trekbbs meet-up at one of the theaters?Or would that be worse than kids in the seat behind you singing "the wheels on the Bus" while kicking the back of your seat?

The plan is to see it opening day. At the latest, opening weekend.

If I get super anxious, I might consider trying to find a midnight showing. I want to be wide awake and not tired the first time I see the movie though, so I will probably still see it during the day sometime.

10am showing the first Sunday after it opens. I always go to new films at that time and it's like a private viewing. Never more than 5-10 people there.

I've taken the day off on Friday and I'll see an early show.

I no longer have the patience to see a movie on Friday or Saturday nights.

I'll probably go see it with my wife either a couple weekends later or on a weekday night to avoid crowds.

I'll see it within the first week. Probably not opening weekend though. Too many people. I don't like being crammed into the cinema like a sardine in a can.

When I go see it? Not a priority, and a 60km drive...so it would have to be on a day when I've got something to do in that town, otherwise, wasted trip just to see ANY movie without doing something else as well.

At 12:01 a.m. May 8th on an IMAX screen.I'll take off work May 8th so I can rest up, and see it again in the afternoon on a conventional screen!

Definitely the first week, hopefully with friends that I've watched a few Star Trek movies with. Also picking up the soundtrack and novel as soon as they're released.

RT.

I'll probably be going to the midnight show on Friday. I'm already planning on taking that next day off for other reasons so I figure why not? Besides, it'll give me and my friends to laugh at the overly, OVERLY geeky Trekkies coming to see the show dressed as Klingons. I might wear my Star Wars shirt just to see what happens. The last Trek movie I went to opening day for was First Contact and as I recall, there were a few Borg in the audience that night.
