What color sock does the TOS crew wear? (Cosplay question)

Guys, I am cosplaying this weekend (premiering my TOS outfit) and to complete my costume I need to know what color sock the crew wears. I am a stickler for detail and it would really bug me if I did not know the exact color of sock the TOS crew wear.

Any help would be appreciated!

Tbh, I don't really know. I'm not sure we ever got to see the socks because the trousers were tucked into the boots.

(Though I would assume black).

Though since he's cosplaying a Nazi, those may not be Starfleet-issue footwear.

I checked "Wink of an Eye" first, but the screencap of Kirk putting his boots back on doesn't show his socks.

In the 24th century they wore black socks. In TNG In Theory, there's a scene where Jenna arrives in her quarters, takes her boots off and we can clearly see black socks. In the absence of contradictory information, I would assume they also wore black socks in the 23rd century as well.

Except Spock. Under his boots, Spock wore bright purple socks with cute sehlats printed on them. One of the ways he privately got his freaky on.

Black socks are best. The hassles they go through in making red, yellow, blow, green, etc, are even more annoying then their botched attempts to replicate Lucky Charms cereal, purple horseshoes and all.

The TNG uniform design was based on the TOS sock design.

Well, thanks to the TOS women's uniform, we easily know the answer to the underwear question (matching division colors!).

Yeah, strangely enough we have seen underwear more often than socks in the Trek Canon, so there's no need to ask questions about Starfleet underwear.

The famous boot scene is in "Wink of an Eye." There's no helpful screencap in this album (I don't have my disks at the moment, so I can't watch the episode to see if there's a helpful frame):

In this screencap from "Shore Leave," it looks like Kirk had white underclothing below his knees.

But I can't tell whether it's socks, long johns, or something else, like for the wrestling around. It kinda looks like white long johns tucked into black socks (assuming both legs are the same), but I don't know.
