What Changes Would You Like To See In "The Galileo Seven"?

AC84

Captain
Captain
Up next this week on the chopping block, Murasaki 312 and those tribal Taurus II giants.

Me personally, I want to see either a new body double or a CGI Taurus II anthropoid close in on Lieutenant Gaetano. I'd also like to see CBS digital recreate the famous shuttlecraft take off scenes frame for frame.

For those wondering why this is coming late, all I can say is that I can't believe I went on vacation almost two months ago and ended up completely forgetting not only this place, but Star Trek in general. All it took was for me to see preliminary pictures of Heath Ledger's Joker for the Batman fan inside of me to awaken (from a much needed sleep) and take over. It was only a matter of time before the general DC Comics fan came to the cockpit to replace Batman. Right now, I'm actually more excited to see Bruce Timm's Superman: Doomsday than Star Trek Remastered! Hopefully this will pass.

Right after Latimer gets it in the back, Gaetano descends the cliff, firing his phaser. When he reaches the bottom, there's a hastily matted-in "fogbank" that prevents us from seeing...something.

I want to see that "something". It's probably Latimer's body with the spear in his ass, and the network thought it was too graphic.

Maybe the CGI guys could get rid of these, too:

My dad used those gauges back in the 1960's to check freon levels in air conditionaers!

They should CG the script into something that makes basic logical sense.

I mean, Spock's the executive officer on a starship and this is his first independent command of seven people? Kee-rist.

-Pimp that ride! The Galileo needs an overhaul, especially that interior. How about some nice leather seats and a state of the art stereo system for starters?

- Taurus II anthropoid natives replaced with Geico cavemen.

- As the cavemen prepare to attack, the "ooga shocka" part of the song "Hooked on a Feeling" should play...

- The reason the Enterprise can't look for the shuttle is because they are fighting a Klingon Bird of Prey. Those are so kewl

Making the native ape creature look a lot less like tall basketball players with Bigfoot makeup and nappy brown rugs thrown over their torsos would be a start. CGI some more realistic creatures into some of the scenes.

I would like o see if the transporter chief laughed when the survivors were beamed back to the Enterprise.

You see they were beamed off the Galileo in a seated position, the seats didn't demateralize with them, so when they appeared in the transporter room.......

I would like to see the look on the transport officers face when the surviors beamed aboard the Enterprise and promptly fell on their butts.

They were beamed off the Galileo in the seated position, and left their seats behind.

^^^I'm sure it was just as funny in Yesterday's Enterprise when Crusher beamed the injured Captain Garrett out of her chair. PLOP! "Ahhhhhhh!" "Whoops, sorry." RIOT!

I believe it's "Ooga Chucka."

How about making Commissioner Ferris less of a fricking douchebag? Guy made some of the stiff-assed TNG admirals seem positively jovial.

Yeah, I used to have an old high school counselor this bad. So stiff that their version or postmortem rigor mortis would entail the body going completely limp and floppy.

Just saw the Remastered "Galileo" about two hours ago. Must say...it's a lot more impressive than you might think.

(*Spoilers below*)

Amazing Murasaki quasar effects, and the new Taurus II sits right in the middle of the quasar with the green gases and stellar matter surrounding it and giving space a deep emerald appearance. Plus, the shuttle launches and flights are absolutely amazing(for a TV CGI budget). Wait until you see Spock jettison and ignite the Galileo's remaining fuel in THIS version. Very nice.

That's always bothered me. So the Vulcanian was never given an away command before this? What? Kirk does his pal a solid?

Yea, I know, the ep is all about Spock. It's a contrivance of the plot.

Writer: Oliver Crawford, Shimon S.Bar-David Wincelberg
Story: Oliver Crawford
Director: Robert Gist

It's a neat ep, rather dated. I think the new VFX will add a lot to the show. It's on tonight! Can't wait. :)

Obviously Boma's (that was the guys name, righ?) hostility towards Spock is something left over from the Enterprise era. Possibly a prejudice passed on from a grandparent.

Same here. There were a lot more effects to be remastered in that episode than I remembered and they did a great job on almost all of them. I was definitely impressed.
