When Kirk's alone on the bridge, have it a bit darker, like everything is turned off, to give a more all alone feel to the scene, more emotional impact that way I think.

-Add Heart's "Almost Paradise" to the soundtrack. Maybe Guns & Rose's "Paradise City", too.

-Jill Ireland in a grass hula skirt and nothing else.

-There should be a Klingon Bird of Prey in orbit, those are kewl .

-Edit in a new ending where Kirk asks Scotty want he did will all those spore plants..."I beamed them over ta tha Klingon ship, sir!" Everybody laughs.

Insert CGI "pollen traces" or "spore trails"(like jet airplane trails in the sky)after each flower fires its salvo. Let the little lines linger for a second or two and then dissipate.

Dilate everyone's pupils, have Kirk emerge from behind a bulkhead, zipping up his trousers with a smile on his face, right after he realises he loves the Enterprise. Perhaps with a small white stain on his leg.

This episode makes me want to make a mint julep, my parents have fresh mint in their garden too...

I like this idea.

Also, there is a wide shot of the empty bridge with the plant no where in sight in front of the Nav console and then Kirk sits down and the plants moves a little and blasts him.

I think the plant should be added to the previous shot.

I buy the plant being able to bend towards the victim (or skyward in the wild) but not crawl accross the floor while it's roots are in a burlap sack!!

I was going to suggest changing that line to:

McCoy: Oh yeah? Wanna see just how fast I can make you squeal like a pig?

But you're right, that line's too good to change.
