Thanks!
Actually, I just watched it about an hour or so ago. Nice changes...not many, but the few that were made are interesting and very snazzy.

I'd suggest make Tamoon look even more mannish but that's impossible. On second thought are we REALLY sure what gender he/she/it is?

I don't think changes would help. It is what it is, a bad story well told (the direction is kinetic, the casting is terrific, the design is pleasingly bizarre, and Gerald Fried's "Amok Time" music is used appropriately), and not heavily dependent on FX.

^^I don't think so. Though I wonder if it was previously totally static or not. There seemed to be a light blinking off and on in the background.

Though I have to say, this is one of my least favorite episodes, I love the work they did on this one.

Yeah, I noticed that. Being a disembodied brain makes it hard to change a light bulb.

Did they change the reused matte painting in the brain cave? I couldn't tell.
No, they didn't. Which baffled me since it was just a lazy rehash of the Janus VI pergium mining facility backdrop from "Devil in the Dark," and even in the Remastered version of that episode the backdrop was changed and made to look more 3-D and sophisticated.

Yeah, what was up with that? I was very disappointed and expecting a redo of that at least.

:rommie:

Maybe Okuda and his team didn't have enough time or money to remaster everything they wanted to...odd, though, considering how relatively little got changed in "Triskelion" overall. You'd think they would have had all the time they needed to tweak a backdrop outside a window. Go figure.

They're busy spending all their time, money and effort on improving Mallory's scenes in The Apple. C'mon, you don't think it was scheduled towards the end because it was going to be easy did you?

BTW, wait until you see the new cinematic death scene!

^Yeah, they're making a brand new scene showing Mallory on his way to the transporter room to report for landing party duty.

As he walks over a broken mirror under a ladder with a black cat crossing his path, he'll be talking about how he's figured out a simple formula that is guaranteed to cure ALL diseases and a sure-fire way for permanent peace and friendship with the Klingons and Romulans. He's even figured out for sure who assassinated John F, Kennedy. Mallory says he'll reveal all this and more when he gets back and marries his fiance.

What a shame.

Lemme guess.

Now, Mallory gets eaten alive by a bear? Gets a 16-ton weight dropped on his head? Gets in an orgy with some of Vaal's female villagers and dies of heart failure?

I refuse to speculate further. At some point, as we get closer to the actual air date, I'll probably start a thread on this topic. But for now, I'm just leading this one off-topic and that's a bad thing.

Baby, it's got so much irony your freaking BONES will crumble and fall apart from overexposure.
