What Book would you leave behind?

The Codex Seraphinianus.
Let's see what they make of it.

(Side question, did they ever explain how the aliens in Piece of the Action learned to read English?)

Obviously the Horizon crew taught them. The books were left behind on purpose (they also left behind textbooks about 'how to build radios and stuff'). That would have been rather pointless if no one could read English.

In the TOS episode 'A Piece of the Action' the Enterprise crew discover that the population of Sigma Iotian II have modeled their society on the Earth book 'Chicago Mobs of the Twenties' which was left behind by another Starship 100 years prior. That got me thinking. What book would you leave behind on that planet? Or what book would you definitely NOT leave behind?

Tempted to leave a book on Buddhism or Jedi but again anything about religion could be a two edged sword. Same with anything related to Star Trek as most Trek books have battles and action in them and don't always convey the optimism of the Federation.
Maybe The Diary of Anne Frank, an important message about the dangers of discrimination and intolerance but also to point out how important the voice of youth is.

Dune

Ah okay, to be honest, I never watched the episode, because it does not sound like anything I'd enjoy.

I would definitely NOT leave behind The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
Add to the list of books to NOT leave behind:

Karl Marx: The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital
Adolph Hitler: Mein Kampf
L. Ron Hubbard: Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health

Probably shouldn't leave any Ian Fleming or Tom Clancy books behind, either.

The Whole Earth Catalog

Or...a nice children’s book:

“The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish Swish Swish”
