How about "Everybody Poops"? That's a valuable lesson to learn for every civilization and is very unlikely to lead to a fascist dystopia.

If you’re going to do that, you might as well leave them the Bible.
For me it's probably just that the amount of books I've read is low but also it was hard thinking of something inspiring. I could give them six volumes of Scott Pilgrim or Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down but...y'know. I'd like to give them the film Groundhog Day because of the effect the events in it has on Phil to basically just be nice to people and help them out for the sake of being nice. What does it say about us that our a chance to basically play God is given and our first instinct is to fuck these people up with bad book suggestions!

Leroy said:“Leviathan Sleeps” (DSC) The Discovery follows up on an old expedition done by the NX-06 Endeavour 100 years prior. The system in question has followed parallel development to Sigma Iota II, during one of the away missions someone left behind a boxed set of the Expanse novels written by James S. A. Corey and as a result the natives used the novel series as a pattern for their entire civilization. Now the crew of the Discovery must mediate a conflict between the United Nations and the Mars Congressional Republic while enduring the ramifications of first contact with an interplanetary empire.
I'd leave behind a copy of the Expanse novels by S.A. Corey, I figure it would a least leave the civilization in an advanced state ready to make contact with aliens. It makes me wonder what problems Star Trek style technology would solve for them, such as artificial gravity, defector shields, and ftl drives.
I even made a pitch for it in a two year old thread.
or prince andrew islandAt the risk of an entire planet turning into Prince Edward Island (it could certainly be worse), Anne of Green Gables.
