What are Your Top Two Favorite Shows on TV Right Now?

I feel tempted to disqualify Doctor Who because it's in a category all by itself and its value isn't really linked to individual episodes or arcs or actuak quality etc etc etc, but I'll put it in anyway.

I think Dracula or Hannibal for second place. The former is a pretty radical reworking of the mythos and I enjoy it for what it is (which is a very well-made and intriguing romp with interesting characters) and the latter is a solid and intense thriller/drama which provides us with a fascinating take on Will Graham and his relationship with the titular Dr Lector.

I might have said GoT, but so far I've only been watching it on Blu-Ray. (Sky's NowTV might change this if they show season four.)

Tatiana Maslany is amazing
Too few people are aware of this. If there's any justice, she'll win all the awards going.

As I no longer watch TV, excluding live sporting events, I wasn't sure I could or should post in here, but as I, at random, am currently working through 27 different TV DVD boxsets, I thought it would be OK.

My favourite of the bunch is my Boston Legal DVD boxset which I'm watching for the first time. I'm nearly finished now, only a few discs left in season 5, it's just so much joy to watch and I can't recommend this highly enough. The friendship displayed between Denny Crane & Alan Shore is a joy to watch. I honestly think that Boston Legal is the most fun I've ever had watching TV.

Hot on its heels are my Farscape blurays, a re-watch for me, but 1st time on bluray. A brilliant piece of sci-fi and TV. Again, it's fun to watch, it also has dark twists, some great characters and, for me, one of the finest death scenes ever. Talyn...Starburst.

I'll have to wait until I've cleared these two shows off my list before I come in again and I hope I've not broken forum etiquette too much.

I wonder if there is anyone on this board that actually does recognize the picture in my Avatar. I would suggest if you haven't seen Orphan Black, check it out and watch at least the first three episodes. After that if you're not hooked, than it's probably not for you. I thought the series got going pretty much after episode 2 and never let up.

1) Games of Thrones
2) Person of Interest

The second position is a toss-up with True Detective, which is fantastic but just started. It's a slow burn on the main murder mystery plot, so you have to be patient, but the acting by McConaughey and Harrelson is superb, and there are scenes which are incredibly intense, both dialogue wise and action wise (like Sunday's episode, which featured a near-continuous camera pan like in Children of Men through a long action sequence). It's the show I most look forward to seeing each week right now until GoT is back.

Why only two favorite shows? It's impossible to choose. Argh.

Okay, I'm going with
1. The Walking Dead
2. Doctor Who.

Although I was torn between Doctor Who, Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones for second. Naturally these shows would rank third and fourth. Not necessary in that order.

A year ago I would've said Breaking Bad and Mad Men, but Breaking Bad is over now and I've since watched the entire series that took its place, Doctor Who.

So my current top 2:
1. Doctor Who
2. Mad Men

Although, if there were ever a My Little Sherlock: Logic is Magic, I'd probably explode from happiness.

Reminds me of when I got that "TNG"/"Doctor Who" comic book for my birthday. It was like my 30 year old self got together with my 10 year old self to write an awesome fanfic together. (My 20 year old self was not represented, as there was no Angel cameo. ;) )

Glee
True Blood

I am watching less shows with each passing year. The Vampire Diaries is a close third and American Horror Story a fourth.

I just watched some amazing True Detective episodes. So I'm going with The Walking Dead and True Detective now.

For the past few years I haven't really had any favorite TV shows, since there really hasn't been any good shows, aside from "Canada's Worst Driver". So I tend to watch most of my shows on DVD, such as "Star Trek" "SeaQuest DSV", "Babylon 5", "Dragnet".

Doctor Who - Just finished watching everything from the 8th Doctor on, except "The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe" and most of the mini-episodes. Overall I was very impressed (clearly).

The Americans - I hope season two, which premiers Wednesday, lives up to season one. This has some flaws, foremost being some trouble with suspension of disbelief, but it more than compensates by being exciting and intriguing on many levels.
