What are your opinions regarding Star Trek that are, shall we say, unorthodox?

Been watching a few episodes of Voyager, Chakotay hasn’t aged badly as a character.
Wasn't the issue early on that his native american heritage was all made up by a clueless researcher?

And then later on he becomes an inanimate carbon rod after Janeway castrated him by sending him to his room in "Equinox" I think it was.

His castration really began after "SCORPION, PART II" ended. He became a 'yes man' for the pretty much the entirety of the rest of the series, with the notable exception of "EQUINOX, PART II".

Same fate as Riker after “The Best of Both Worlds”.

Me neither! It's been decades since I've seen that movie, but looking at some screenshots, at the time I probably thought that was Erik Estrada.

Worf should never be allowed to command a starship after the events of “Rules of Engagement”.

Firing on a ship before identifying what it is, is an unforgivable offense by a commander.

The writers didn't seem to have been aware of how badly they were treating Worf. As written, he never should have risen higher as a line officer than the security department (though he did have skill at diplomacy).

Would’ve likely lessened the ick factor between her and Neelix.

I've never understood why people have a problem with their ages. It's essentially Aragorn (Kes) and Arwen (Neelix).

Yeah, i'm pretty sure i haven't seen that movie since before TNG started.

Some viewers hear two year old Kes and forget a two year Ocampan is not the same as a two year human. Sarek of Vulcan was over 100 when his human wife was 40 to 50 something.

It wouldn’t have been so obvious that it was someone’s fetish fantasy if they hadn’t paired her with someone who clearly was a middle-aged man.

It was ick right from the beginning.

its not age difference. its life experience. Kes didn't somehow slow down time and pack 2 decades of life into 20 years.
