What are your opinions regarding Star Trek that are, shall we say, unorthodox?

Completely blind in the mind's eye as it were. I'm unable to create something from nothing, reading is a fruitless endeavour for me as I can't visualise a character or a setting at all or derive any sense of what their voices sound like.
As for the voices, I don't think readers in general are going to be getting anything substantial there unless the text really goes out of its way.

Oh sure but I mean there's nothing at all. No idea of what they might even possibly sound like. Just words on a page and my own voice reading them. To this day I have never made it to the end of a book as I am unable to engage and have my attention held.

For extended franchises I'm interested in like Star Trek I just use wikis and various plot summaries if I want to learn what a storyline was about or who a character was. Facts and lists are how I absorb stories. Sometimes artwork might inspire me to fancast a character in live action like the Cavill Calhoun in my picture but I had to get an ai to show me what that would look like because my brain just can't visualise.

The refit Enterprise as depicted in The Motion Picture is the most beautiful space vehicle ever created for film, bar none, and no one will ever convince me otherwise. And, yes, more than even the TOS Enterprise.

That being said, I don't hate the Kelvinverse Enterprise. It's not a bad modernization of the classic design.

The fugliest Starfleet ship is the Oberth class.
T'Ana would seem to agree.
