What are your expectations for this film?

There are many different takes on this film and the direction of the franchise, and members are by and large quite demonstrative about their opinions. Maybe it would be fun to distill these opinions down to a convenient poll. Here, you may express yourself statistically but non-scientifically. What are your realistic expectations for this film and its implications for the future of Trek?

I had to laugh at the last option.

Realistically? I think it's going to do well box office wise and critically. That's not just the fanboy in me talking. This flick has such a huge marketing push behind it. It's got a chance.

The marketing effort has been smart and focused, I will say that. I'd like to go with the first option, but you never know about the movie-going public and the Trek stigma.

1) I will enjoy it.

2) My friends and family will enjoy it.

3) It will make enough money to get a sequel.
