What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I don't even think it went that far, just that the DSC Klingons also exist in another reality (much like how TOS Movie and TNG Klingons also look exactly the same in the Mirror Universe) and it was LD's way of showing off the L'Rell and Voq appearance and acknowledging it's all part of the same continuity.
I'm the last of my line of the family, and I have no kids. But my paternal great-grandfather was one of eleven children, so, even tho I don't know any of those branches of the family tree, I'm pretty sure the name continues.
Out of ten cousins on my father's side of the family, my brother and I were the only males until Justin came along.
Justin's wife can't have biological children. I'm single; and my nephew probably won't have children.
So, the family name dies with us.
My mom's family has an older sister, an older brother and a younger sister.
Neither of mom's sisters married and Uncle Jan had a daughter, so the Malley name dies with him.

Disco Klingons are just as much a part of the prime timeline as the many other variants we’ve seen.

Exactly. If Disco is in an alternate timeline because of the inclusion of the Discovery Klingons, then so is The Next Generation for the inclusion of the Proto Klingons that we saw on that show.
It's just the usual whining and grasping at straws.
It's like the Gorn. There are at least three different canonical looks for them, too.
I don't even know how many for Andorians. Ditto, for Tellarites.
Heck, just for the TOS Era there were at least three looks for Andorians. TOS, TMP and TVH.
I always thought a fun episode of SNW would be if they have a Klingon character alternate each scene from looking like the SNW Klingons, to TOS, to DSC, all without anyone noticing or mentioning it. Added meta points if the Klingon is played by James Callis.
But it's all a perfect continuity with no flaws until Evil Kurtzman came along.
And that episode was apparently on Lower Decks.
If they want to redo the Klingons, fine. But they need to own it. Worf should have looked like a DISCO Klingon.
As it turns out, it's LD that is not from the Prime Timeline after all.
Wake me up when they change the humans.
That's similar to an idea I had for "Trials and Tribble-ations" Dorn should have appeared in TOS Klingon makeup with out explanation.
Then Kor, Koloth and Kang should have appeared as TOS Klingons in DS9 too.

@Turtletrekker on some in-universe alien-created TV sci fi program, the humans should look nothing like humans and when they're redesigned for the reboot, fans are like "those aren't real humans".
I always think of my wife's family. Her parents had two daughters. Her father's brother had a son, but her uncle had changed his name during WWII so it didn't sound Italian. So the original family name is dead.
Sorry for the tangent. I just find this stuff interesting.
