What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

So you're blaming them for why the numbers aren't as good as it should be?
I don't give a shit about the numbers. It was one of the best series ever made and absolutely the best thing to come out of that franchise since Empire Strikes Back.

I feel a great deal of pity for any poor soul who found Andor boring.

I certainly feel absolutely zero pity for anyone who found it offensive.

I think the genesis of that was Christopher Plummer's request to Nick Meyer to not "bury me under a ton of makeup so I can't act."
that may be, although i think he might have been slightly shortsighted in that regard, plenty of people have done plenty of good acting under the heavier klingon makeup, but it does do a little bit of incidental worldbuilding, that then got ruined by the need to explicitly explain stuff, and he got an iconic look out of it. although it is one of the problems i have with the disco variety: aside from the whole skull extensions and aesthetic things, there's so much going on with the faces that really good actors seemed to be struggling to even talk, much less emote properly... i do occsionally wonder what actors that aren't used to being aliens and stuff think about it when they are called for it...

My controversial opinion is that whoever waved that Armadillo in here can jolly well find a way to usher them back out.

Much like using high warp speeds in frequently-traveled space lanes permanently damaging and warping space, transphasic torpedoes may put certain areas of space into (or out of, depending on your POV) permanent phase. Perhaps that's what happened in that area of space from "Tholian Web" - a Tholian transphasic weapon accident that permanently messed up that region and weakened the fabric of space-time. They realized the mistake too late and buried the operation and other nearby spacefaring races accidentally fall into it unawares.
I love this idea! *beams it directly into Personal Headcanon*

Mando still #1 over all.

How shocking that a list based on compiling all time views based on data ranging from 2019-2025 should favor a popular show which launched in 2019 and already released it's third season in 2023 over a popular show that didn't exist at all until 2022 and only recently got a second season.

Also gotta love the irony of trying to prove Andor is unpopular by linking to an article that literally says Andor is the second most popular thing on their list.
