Forgetting about the Organians, Thasians, Travelers among others? The Q should not exist. Trelanie was enough.

Ethan Phillips is a good actor.Neelix is too much sometimes but at least he has a strong personality, which many on Voyager don’t.
There’s speculation Trelane and Q could be connected, but as a general rule one and done is enough for each character/species of this type.Forgetting about the Organians, Thasians, Travelers among others?
Now that's controversial. There’s speculation Trelane and Q could be connected, but as a general rule one and done is enough for each character/species.
I edited my comment to add “of this type”, i.e. the ones you listed. I do tend to lean towards episodes with unique species though. Now that's controversial.
I can't imagine not getting more of Vulcans, Romulans, Klingons Organians, or Bajorans.
Not to belabour the point but I'm curious why only one of this type? The Galaxy is a massive place but no room for non corporeal types of life?I edited my comment to add “of this type”, i.e. the ones you listed. I do tend to lean towards episodes with unique species though.
I meant I don’t mind all the species you listed, provided they mostly stay in their one episode. Provided each new non corporeal species puts a new spin on things, I don’t mind new species. Not to belabour the point but I'm curious why only one of this type? Yes. Because it's not a real event and putting them in 2054 doesn't change the story.Bell Riots failed to happen in August this year.
Should we kick them 30 years down the timeline?
Ah. I don't mind god like brings even though Q is quite annoying and largely overstayed his welcome by the second episode.I meant I don’t mind all the species you listed, provided they mostly stay in their one episode. However, I do feel god like and psychic species and characters tend to be overpowered and end up dull. Q was an exception but we didn’t need how many episodes with him.
I like his interactions with Picard and wish they had leaned into that more, like Q and Picard have a Captain’s Holiday episode.Ah. I don't mind god like brings even though Q is quite annoying and largely overstayed his welcome by the second episode.
No, it's a myth. It's a myth that has been perpetuated for years. Rodenberry put it forward that Star Trek was aspirational because it influenced technological change even though it actually didn't.
That Star Trek can become real in some measure because people get so dissatisfied with this present life.
Says who? What makes that a better spelling than "cyrogenic," the way Memory Alpha spells it?The term used in "Journey to Babel" for the open heart procedure needed to save Sarek's life [...] should properly be spelled "serogenic,"
"God-like" beings' power usually gave the series heroes a challenge not easily won with all we were told made them formidable. In other words, the heroes would have to do more to overcome such beings in some imaginative or fortunate manner. That said...I meant I don’t mind all the species you listed, provided they mostly stay in their one episode. Q's best episode was "Q Who?", where all of his judgements about the arrogance & flaws of humans were played out with the one and only time the Borg were actually mysterious and chilling. After that, he was just a glorified Trelane-esque trickster / pest again, and that was annoying.Ah. Wesley wouldn’t have been hated as much if he wasn’t told to shut up and he was taken seriously. The character isn’t terrible, it’s how the other characters react to him.

I will also grant All Good Things.Partially true.
Tapestry (TNG) and Death Wish (VOY) are both magnificent episodes, IMHO.
See also "Gumato/Mugato."*And if you don't take my word on the script not being canon, prepare to find out the hard way how sharp my bat'telh is. And if you don't know what a bat'telh is, look it up. Under bat'leth.
I don't feel it to the same level, but I feel a little of that about Beckett Mariner.I know this is your opinion but mine is Wesley was so hated because he kept showing up trained professionals that were at least nearly twice his age. When he wasn't a wunderkind he was causing the story conflict.
Wes was much better after he entered the Academy.
I love how he turned out in modern Trek, though.
