I found Worf more interesting on DS9, largely because he got to rub elbows with other Klingons a little more frequently. I am generally not a big Klingon fan, but Martok made that work. TNG had it but it always felt very static. But, then Worf could feel very static.
A lot of Worf on early TNG was basically just saying the wrong thing in meetings in the ready room and repeatedly getting his ass kicked to show how "powerful" someone was (which made him look like a wuss).
He got better as time went on - particularly once Ron Moore started writing him regularly - but the whole Duras thing was just a bit too melodramatic for me, and seeing Worf repeatedly be a terrible father to Alexander got boring.
