Actually MASH is pretty close to veg TV. You can watch any ep and totally get it. Things resolve in 24 minutes. There's some change over the years but mostly due to characters leaving. Pretty funny the first few years till Loretta Swit stopped period hair and Mike Farrell's big stache.
Btw,loved Breaking Bad and Saul. Not saying stupid tv is the only valid. But i n a very complex world, simple entertainment has its place.

Better Call Saul is incredibly good. I wish they’d hurry up with the next season.
What's so hard to follow in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?
I saw most of the MCU movies once when they came out, so it’s a case of Zemo? Oh yeah, Zemo. Wait, what? He killed a king in Wakanda? Oh yeah... I remember... when did Sam steal the shield? And so on... it’s very plot heavy on what’s in the previous movies and gosh, it’s been how many years since The Winter Soldier? Or Civil War?
I think if you’re the sort who’s seen every Captain America Marvel movie a few times you’re okay... once I watched a YouTube primer I was fine.
Yeah, keeping up with the MCU films has become more difficult than my graduate work.
Riker wasn't a failure. He kept passing up jobs purposefully because he liked the Enterprise and the camaraderie. Even Troi points this out in an episode and it was a part of the characters evolution. He was shown to be a capable and successful captain in episodes about the future.

No doubt. I myself had to back-reference a few things when watching Picard, but my wife just soldiered on and filled the blanks herself.

Depending on how the second season turns out, I'm on the cusp of saying Picard is my favorite Star Trek series.

Picard is definitely my least favorite Star Trek. Q has some heavy lifting to do in Season 2, IMHO.

Controversial Opinion-
I’d much rather watch a Star Trek: Titan animated series, still having a “Lower Decks” flavor with Brad Boimler as the main character, trying to fit in and find his way with the legendary Riker and Troi, than see the actual S2 of Lower Decks.
Worse. That would confuse Data.
I think Discovery will run for seven seasons.
