What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

About Data: How do I hate that episode! I think its title is "In Theory" where Data apes a relationship... What an embarrassing piece of trash really. I only watched it once because I refuse to inflict that on myself again but even that one time was one too many!!! Plus the often-repeated phrase "I've programmed myself to...". Enough already!!! Anyway, I usually can only take Data in small doses. I'd rather watch two TNG Ferengi episodes than one where Data plays a prominent role. I mean things like Data never understanding a colloquialism and then using it with the wrong words is really old as far as I am concerned.

The Doctor Crusher character is really ill-conceived the way she keeps winning about things even when she doesn't have an alternative solution to propose is annoying.

Plus when she says that she'll keep Worf restrained to keep him from killing himself. I mean seriously why not keep him in stasis? That way she can keep him "alive" forever! Idiot!

On one hand, you have Picard who will gladly watch a whole planet die without lifting a finger, and on the other, you have Crusher who'll get the ship in jeopardy because she can't let a single borg die but who won't say anything in the case of the whole planet!!!

 

i think there has been so much back and fourth...he said/she said that we’ll never know the true story about how/why she left, what exactly was said, etc...

 

TNG movie era suffered due to the exclusive focus on Picard and Dara. We could have had some great odd number movies if the focus had been shifted to others in the ensemble. Imagine a Worf focused movie...

 

I actually preferred Dr. Pulaski. Diana Muldaur was better at portraying a convincing doctor.

 

Dr. Pulaski is also the better character.

 

Pulaski was just a bad ripoff of McCoy. Right down to the fact she hated transporters.

 

Nope. She was a great ripoff of McCoy and I really wish she'd stuck around.

 

Yes, the movies are pretty much Picard-centered. It wouldn't surprise me if more than half of the scenes were about Picard.

 

I wanted a combined movie verse, that could use any characters from any of the series. It didn't need to be the end of TOS characters. Kirk through the Nexus, Spock through his long life, and Scotty through the transporter, were

At least as a guest star a couple times a season, or as a liason from StarFleet Medical or something. Unfortunately, this would have shown up Gates, with a more experienced doctor, and actress to compare with.

 

I prefer Ethan Pecks Spock when he was still fully bearded up.

 

And just an unenjoyable character.

Well, she was saved by a transporter once so maybe that reconciled her with the thing.
