What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Biggus Dickus crawled so they could run.

Kirk gave up his right to being an active father too easily. Its the 23rd century he would have won a custody case.

This was before you could bring families with you on starships. Also with 5 year missions I get the impression most ships in that time period don't return to Earth or even lots of Federation space that much, other than maybe going to a Starbase from time to time to take on supplies, new crew etc. Space was still seen as the Old West I think in those days.

Just a Karen in general. Someone who feigns outrage about something they know nothing about. A busy-body. A trouble maker in general.

By the way, Discovery SUCKS!!!
Strange New Worlds is far better.
Except the singing episode. It was well done, but with the exception of Uhura no one in star fleet sings.
I think they sang pretty well. They weren't going to Carnegie Hall, but that's not why they're aboard. Given that they're amateurs they were fine.

I know some might find it laughable, but I always thought Shatner should have gotten an Academy Award for that performance and Nimoy for writing/directing it.
Maybe not laughable but a tad absurd. Shatner has moments in that film, sure, but it's not all great. Plus, Nimoy didn't write the script.

Incorrect. The greatest pop culture decade was unarguably the 80's.

Four of the six classic Trek films. The beginning of TNG. The Empire Strikes Back. Aliens. Terminator/Terminator 2. The A-Team. Knight Rider. Airwolf. The beginning of the Disney Renaissance. Cheers. Night Court. Johnny Carson and David Letterman. I mean, I could just keep going on and on with TV and movies to say nothing of music.
80's was no doubt great for Star Trek but as a whole nah. Especially not what was in the mainstream.

During the three years we see on TOS they went to Earth three times and Vulcan, another Federation core world twice.
Scratching my head about Earth.

In "Tomorrow Is Yesterday," they went by accident through a time warp. Given their proximity to Pluto when they start breaking, I think it's reasonable to conclude that they probably went back to Earth for repairs after returning to the 23rd century.

However, in "Assignment: Earth," it's not necessarily the case that they were in the Solar System in the 23rd century. They could have exclusively exploited the black star that got them there the first time in "Tomorrow Is Yesterday." They never say, one way or the other.

What was the third time? "City'? The ship didn't go there, they went through the Guardian of Forever. Earth in "The Cage" was an illusion.
