why Kalium is called "Potassium" in English

So that's why the abbreviation is K! My chemistry teacher never did answer that, and we didn't have Google back then.

I'm not out of pajamas yet - coral running t-shirt that barely fits anymore, pink and yellow plaid flannel pajama bottoms, a gray hoodie, and pink striped fuzzy socks.

Yep it is indeed from the arabic "al-qalyah" ~ alkali -which then in return actually means potash...

Had to explain all that to people while wearing my T-shirt with the written words:

Maternity jeans! Mom ended up going back and getting a second pair, exactly the same as the first, so I can rotate and actually wash them sometimes (I have been known to wear the same jeans for months on end without washing). These jeans are the first "petite" jeans I've ever been able to wear without cuffing or hemming. And a blue/purple/something v-neck maternity t-shirt, neon pink socks and gray hoodie. But not my rings, because my fingers have decided they're going to swell up a bunch now.
