Dark Shadows ep 717
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode #19: "A Dog and Pony Show".
Wow, that just kick-started dormant memories. Is that the one where Gleason did some stand-up between the segments? And there were dancers? The Color Honeymooners on DVD. The European episodes from the 1960's. These have their charms, but they're just not as good as the classics from the '50's.
Haven returns tonight. When I'll actually watch it, though....

Yeah, that's it, the one with the June Taylor dancers. I was vaguely remembering the monologue and thinking it was stand up. I'm really not remembering anything specific at all, just images at the edge of memory like an itch. I might have to check out the DVDs.Haven returns tonight. When I'll actually watch it, though....

No, it's the show where the Kramdens and the Nortons are touring Europe after Ralph wins a contest from a cereal company, the first episode of which was a remake of one they did in the 50's. There isn't any stand-up so far, but there is alot of singing going on. I hate that, because they keep interrupting the story for those segments. Of course, I'm not a fan of musicals. Gleason DOES do monologues at the end of each show, but these aren't stand-up routines either. And yeah, the June Taylor dancers open each episode.
These are the shows from 1966 with Sheila Macrae and Jane Kean playing Alice and Trixie. I must say, I REALLY miss Audrey Meadows and Joyce Randolph. I liked them much better.
Still, as I said, these episodes DO have their charms.
