What are you watching?

The Phantom Creeps with Bela Lugosi. Last night I watched the Spanish version of Dracula (without Bela Lugosi :rommie:).

Since my last post...

Several Enterprise episodes
In The Mouth of Madness
Vertigo
Village of the Damned (90's)
My Name Is Bruce

Cool Hand Luke on TCM.

"What we have here.......is a failure.....to communicate!!!"

Yesterday was rainy...so it was perfect for a movie day (as if i need an excuse)... Pulp Fiction and To Kill a Mockingbird (for the second time in two weeks). That movie is just...perfect.

^I've never seen the film but I've read the books countless times.

Just about to watch South Park.

^ Also known as "Frank Drebin jumps the shark". :p

seriously, the NG films *are* funny, but they completely miss the point regarding Drebin as a character: they made HIM funny. Drebin is not supposed to be funny. He's supposed to be the straight man, reacting to the hilarity around him. He worked as a character in Police Squad! because he was dead serious.

Also, Alan North was a lot better Captain than George Kennedy.

He's pretty much the straight man in Naked Gun. There are a few slapstick moments with him, but overall, he seems to take things in stride.

I don't know, I really like George Kennedy in this role. He's a funny guy, and plays well off of Nielsen.

^ Is it just me, or would Michael Hogan (nuBSG's Saul Tigh) make an awesome Drebin? I can TOTALLY see him delivering lines like Leslie Nielsen did.

Watchin' Harry Brown on DVD...I thought it'd be more like a British Gran Torino from the trailer, but Michael Caine kicks more ass in this than Clint Eastwood did in his movie.
