What are you reading?

A Trek novel by David Mack: Seekers 1, Second Nature. You may get a sense of the novel by checking out the TV Tropes article about Precursors.

Just finished reading Dune. I try and read it once a year but it has been about two or three since I read it last.

I'm just about to start The Leftovers. I love the HBO series and I'm so hooked, I decided to read the book.

^^ The Lovecraft Historical Society has done a great adaptation of that in old-time radio style.

The radio adaption might have been more interesting. I found the story to be slightly boring but that might have been partially due to the narrator who was rather average.

I am now listening to Somebody Killed His Editor by Josh Lanyon. Fun so far.

I am listening to What Einstein Told His Cook: Kitchen Science Explained by Robert Wolke, narrated by Sean Runnette. So far only sugar and artificial sweeteners, and salt has been covered but I have already learnt quite a bit.

I gave up on Fool Moon about halfway through. The Dresden Files is not for me.

Yesterday I started reading Caliban's War. The second book in the Expanse series.

I am still listening to What Einstein Told His Cook in the mornings, but in the afternoon I have been listening to The Slickrock Cafe by Chinle Miller, narrated by E. Roy Worle.

I finally finished The Time Patrol this afternoon. Man, what a slog. I usually enjoy alternate history, but I don't need (or want) a six-page history lesson about the Germanic tribes of the sixth century, or the Holy Roman Empire, or the Saxons, every 30 pages.

I put Cold Days by Jim Butcher into my backpack to start on the bus tomorrow.

Currently reading Alan Dean Foster's adaptation of Star Trek and will read Into Darkness next. I am looking forward to Conn Iggulden's next War of the Roses book being released in the autumn.
