What are you reading?

Having only read good things about the Rendezvous With Rama-sequels (on this site) and knowing that that first novel is spectacular, I recently purchased an omnibus-version containing the first four novels.
Finished it last night and am never going to read it again! Why didn't anyone tell me that the sequels were fantasy and drama, NOT SciFi?

Anyway... I'll be starting my first Agatha Christie tonight
That is: I think it's my first.

Just started rereading a comprehensive book and guide on beagles. I've had my beagle for several years now but there's always something fresh and new you can learn about the breed no matter how long you've owned one of them.

I'm reading The Lies of Locke Lamora.

Reading Heart of the Game which is true life story of perennial minor leaguer Mike Coolbaugh, who was coaching 1st base for AA Tulsa Drillers in 2007 and was hit in the neck by a foul ball and killed almost instantly. The Drillers are affiliates of the Colorado Rockies, and this was the year that the Rockies went to the World Series, and to a man, they voted a full World Series bonus share to Coolbaugh's family. This is an extremely well written book.

Well, I haven't made too much progress thus far. But a book this thick(for a dog guide, anyways)is bound to have some really fun and intriguing surprises buried between its covers. There's always something new to learn about your pets even if you've owned them for years. Dogs are far more complex creatures than some people like to give them credit for, and sometimes the most complex mammal in the room depending on who's there at any given moment.

I've always loved dogs and grew up with them (we always had 1 to 3, along with up to a half dozen cats), but I'm afraid I don't know much about them. I'd love to have a dog now, but I'm not really in the position to, sadly.

Finished Pratchetts Soul Music last night... so I started reading The Truth.

About halfway through Asimov's Foundation. I really enjoyed the first chapter and was assuming that I would read at least the original trilogy, but I'm bogging down. Maybe it's just too much politics for me in the midst of the real-life election. Not sure. I know it's a classic, but I'm curious how other people actually feel about it...
