The only book I have read by Shatner was Star Trek Memoirs, but I don't think he did that one alone.

Last Train To Memphis by Peter Guralnick.
Its been a bit since I posted about what I was reading, but I just finished The Fall of Númenor: And Other Tales from the Second Age of Middle-earth by JRR Tolkien (Edited by Brian Sibley). Its a collection of Tolkien's various Second Age writings but into chronological order in one book. The Rings of Power show inspired me to get into the larger Tolkien lore stuff, and this book was a perfect place to start. Its put together very well and its an interesting and entertaining read. I liked all of the book a lot, but when it comes to an actual narrative the (incomplete) story of Aldarion and Erendis was great, to the point where I wish it was fleshed out enough to get its own book. There are several romantic stories in Tolkien's lore, but this one turns out different then most, and definitely has a different feel then a lot of his stories, which was interesting.
Overall I'd definitely give the book a big recommendation to people who like to read Tolkien's lore stuff, its presented in a very readable way and, in my opinion, the second age of middle earth is a very interesting setting.

I just finished Shirley Jackson: A Rather Haunted Life by Ruth Franklin. It was a interesting biography about a woman whose life I knew very little about. The only of her works I have read by Jackson are The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle which is one of my favourite novels. I am determined to read more by Jackson this year. 4,5/5

I am currently reading a biography Matilda: Empress, Queen, Warrior by Catherine Hanley. A few chapters in I thought to myself ‘This story seems very familiar. So I looked up GRR Martin and found that he was inspired by Matilda’s life when he wrote ‘House of the Dragon’ . Rhaenyra is Matilda but with dragons.

Seriously, Mrs. Silvercrest and I are both reading the Tripods series by John Christopher. Re-reading, for me.
On Saturday, I decided to take a break from Star Trek: Cast No Shadow, which I've been reading since December, and started Aquman Vol. 4: Death of a King, written by Geoff Johns with pencils by Paul Peleletier, inks by Sean Parsons, colors by Rod Reis, and letters by Dezi Sienty.
Murder She Wrote books. I have read 3 in a short time. Don't recall the titles though.
A couple weeks ago I started reading the comic collection Red Sonja Vol. 2: The Art of Blood and Fire, written by Gail Simone and art by Walter Geovani.
I took a break from that for a few days when we were having issues with our Amazon account and couldn't get access to my Comixology library, and started All Systems Red by Martha Wells, the first book in The Murderbot Diaries series.

The Gray Ghost by Clive Cussler. I think this one was written before he passed or else it would be titled: Clive Cussler's Hellburner, which I bought for my stepfather last Christmas (I borrowed it once, but never finished it, since I bought another Clive Cussler book by this time and began to read it until my stepfather finishes his, which will probably not be until next Christmas, so I might have to borrow it again if I run out of reading material. He's still on the Clive Cussler book I gave to him for his birthday last year, which is a couple of months before Christmas, so he hasn't even got to Hellburner yet. He's a very slow reader, since even my Mom and me can finish about five books before he even finishes one).
