Unconventional Flying Objects by Paul R. Hill. Analysis of the flight characteristics of UFOs. Gets rather technical, so I can't follow much. One idea I have come across before-UFOs being held aloft by force fields.
I just finished The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Its a great sci fi book (space opera I guess, it actually reminds me of Firefly but the ship isn't crewed by outlaws) about the small crew of a ship that basically "builds" wormholes through space for other ships to use. The universe it sets up is really cool, with a bunch of alien species and societies that are all interesting. The book is focused on the crew of the ship Wayfarer, and all of the crew is interesting. its a nice mix of aliens, humans and an AI, and I found them to all be well written and memorable. I picked it up because I was looking for a good sci fi book, and I got a great one. There is another book in the series that was released this year, but unfortunately it only follows a few side characters from the first book and has nothing to do with the story or main cast of the first book, so I'm not going to bother with it.
Since I needed a new book, I grabbed Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie at the library. It seems like it could be interesting, and it got good reviews, so its worth a try (even if I'm really picky when it comes to books that aren't from established franchises). I also grabbed Doctor Who: The Wheel of Ice by Stephen baxter to read either after Ancillary Justice or to replace that book if I don't end up liking it.

The Chinese in America, Iris Chang
Started re-reading the first few Peter Decker - Rina Lazarus mysteries by Faye Kellerman. Originally read them in the '90s.
I liked some more than others, but overall I think it's still one of the best mystery series out there.
Star Trek novel of the Titan series. "Sight Unseen" by James Swallow. I would loosely describe it as Star Trek meets The Outer Limits.
(Other possible paths for Trek are Trek meets The Twilight Zone, and Trek meets the X-Files).

Just finished The Chinese in America, a history of the Chinese-American experience from 1849 onwards. The author did an excellent job of combining Chinese history, the immigrant experience, and American history -- as well as Sino-American relations. I thought Whatever Happened to the Egyptians? might be next, but something lighter made be in order..
Started reading Norm MacDonald's book Based on a True Story. So far I'm really enjoying it.
I have also come to realize that reading in bed, before bed, is actually impossible. I can't get through more than 5 pages before I'm asleep.

Decided to re-read Happy City, a book on urbanism and human flourishing. Also on the side, a book called Ask a Science Teacher.
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King. Yes, I'm still reading King.

I've recently started on Red Mars. It's only the second Kim Stanley Robinson novel I've started reading, the other being The Years Of Rice And Salt (which I abandoned years ago, though I'm not sure why; must start it again sometime).
