What are you interested in right now?

^^^ I would love to! But only if we could chat over a glass of wine afterwards. :D

Oh, but I'm always nice to my sweet-tooth enablers :D - they are few and far between.
All the wine and chatting you want. :techman:

auntiehill, your cupcakes look fantastic! Beautiful, pure sugar. I love it.

*faints*

Oh, wait, you were talking about FOOD? Damn. I had such an image... ;)

NOT. Amused. :vulcan:

Okay, somebody needs to explain this to me.
Yesterday I thought I was just too tired to get it, but now I think it's either the language barrier or the virginity of my mind. Is there a double entendre for cupcakes, or what?

The extra pillow is not just for crying. I can hug it and pretend I'm not alone at night... :p

And the stakes are non-negotiable. I have standards!

Oh, hugging pillows. I have five of those. You are now officially masculine again.

So your standard is that in order for someone to know your policies on pillow fights they have to share your bed? Wouldn't that then cancel out your standards about who shares your bed as soon as you get asked? This is a dangerous philosophy to live by.

*faints*

Oh, wait, you were talking about FOOD? Damn. I had such an image... ;)

... a person completely out of sugar? I'd faint at that image!

Now you can imagine how scared the Ghostbusters were when the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man appeared...

I can, but my fainting is one of the too much happiness variety. Imagine the Marshmallow Man between two huge chunks of pure milk chocolate, over an open fire.

Same as usual: Literature, Poetry, Art, Astronomy, Paleontology, Anthropology, Physics, History, Philosophy and Roaring 20s Artistic Nudes.

Not biology? Don't you have any interests at all?
Actually, I do have an interest in Biology, especially Genetics. I have quite a few interests beyond what I listed-- Music, Computer Programming, Zoology, Folklore, and so on. Probably the best way to describe my interests is "The Arts & Sciences." :D

Ah, only Arts & Sciences? Don't people take interest in anything anymore nowadays? It's a sad world in which no one actually cares that there is a world out there, with lots of gossip, and reality shows, and just general nothingness. I fear for the future of mankind.

Well, I suppose you could say that my interest in Sociology covers the concepts of gossip and reality shows and my interest in Philosophy covers the concept of nihilism. :D

^ ... ... ... Darn.
You know, it is quite impolite to dumbstruck someone who is trying to trash-talk you.

Sorry. :( Dumbstrucking someone is definitely something I have no interest in. ;)

And trash-talking is no hobby of mine, but what is one to do when the hour no longer allows reading Kafka?

Anyway, your broad interest in interests is, in itself, quite interesting.

True, False, If, And, Or, Xor, Nand, Not...

Reminds me of my childhood: playing around with 7400 series ICs :rommie: :rommie:

What I'm doing at the moment also relates to my childhood: I'm re-reading some of the SciFi I read as a kid (I would read anything I could get my hands on) but putting it into the context I didn't know about back then, all thanks to the wonder of the interwebs :)

Oh, hugging pillows. I have five of those. You are now officially masculine again.

I feel vindicated.

So your standard is that in order for someone to know your policies on pillow fights they have to share your bed? Wouldn't that then cancel out your standards about who shares your bed as soon as you get asked? This is a dangerous philosophy to live by.

Danger, excitement, gaps in logic. I've got it all. :D

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.

I'm slowly but surely teaching myself music theory via the conduit of teh internets in the vain hope that said knowledge will fuse with my self-taught musical stylings to create a freakish hybrid of musical Frankensteinery that blah blah blah rhubarb rhubarb blah blah blah fecking hell, I started to bore myself, there....

:D
"rhubarb" Reminds me, I need to go grab this month's free Goon Show download...

I'm interested in people. And studying the scriptures. I just found that Crossway came out with their ESV Study Bible last year, I think I smell a Christmas present!
I've heard good things about it, but haven't managed a copy yet either. Can't quite justify the cost yet. The ESV is a great translation, though. :)

Okay, so my interests...

Antiquing - I can't seem to avoid the antique malls. I have to stroll through at least once a week. Saturday is for driving somewhere less local and walking my legs off gazing at scraps of the past and mentally trying them out in my home to see if they fit or not.

De-cluttering - As a correllary to the antiquing, I've been trying to purge some of the absolute JUNK that seems to breed like rabbits in my house. I know where most of it comes from (over-zealous parents), but I have to take responsibility for some of it, and all of it is my responsibility to GET RID OF ALREADY. ;)

Crocheting - I'm in the middle of an afghan and recently picked up some thread to try doilies, hoping to graduate to larger runners to grace some of my antique furniture.

Glassware - What can I say, I love shiny things. :D Part of the antiques obsession involves an admiration for the vast array of antique glassware available. I'm also in the market for a nice china cabinet (antiquing again) to display my grandmother's china and depression glass, as well as pieces that I've collected.

Homemaking and Interior Design Blogs - I can't seem to get enough of looking at all the different ideas out there for decorating, cooking, cleaning, etc. I'm going through a (rather extended) phase of wanting desperately to be a homemaker and not having the means to do so. So I scrounge on the weekends and try to avoid real housework in favor of shopping for stuff to pretty up the house. ;)

Art - Bought some watercolors, brushes, and paper today. Don't know why, as I have no artistic talent, but that doesn't seem to stop me from trying again once every 7 or 8 years.

Yep, I just lost my regular ESV, and just got some money for doing a website for my church, so I think I may use it for that. Certainly a kind of a symmetry there!

If you ever have pictures, I'd love to see your progress! I love baking although I don't often have reason to do it.

I almost always forget to make AA take pictures when I bake.. I do it so often lol. I am still in the "looking through tutuorials stage" when it comes to sugarpaste and flowers.. and slowly gathering tools and materials :D.

As for finding reasons to bake.. I always do.. Sometimes AA tells me to give him a break though.. :(

And that is when my brothers and coworkers get more to nibble on

Auri, I've just moved about a block away from a large cake-supply store. They have all sorts of interesting flavorings and, er... utensils, I suppose, for baking and decorating cakes. I am pretty sure I will gain about 50 lb in the next year trying it all out.

My own current interests:

Home decorating. Just moved, a lot needs to be done. It's pretty fun, actually. We did a lot of remodeling to the old place, and we're sort of addicted to it now.

Gardening. I am a crap gardener, but things grow well here, so I ought to give it a try. I am pretty much the Grim Reaper for plants, though, so we'll see how well that works out.

Camping. I need to learn more recipes for camping, buy some tents and such. We're very close to the mountains, and I am looking forward to more nights under the stars. I draw the line at fishing, though. Ugh.

Yoga. Have to work off all of those cakes, right?

Heh. We do live in an endlessly fascinating universe, I think. :)

Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
yes.gif

I've started reading again. Read 4 books already this Summer and have more lined up. Going to start a new Swedish course next week. And I'm taking more and more photographs, except of Aurian's baking and cooking  Oh! And I've started to grow my own herbs.

Currently fascinated by our moon....and writing a story on it. Other things I'm interested in right now.

-UFO's
-Government Conspiracies (I'm always interested in this)
-Roman Republic
-Roman Empire
-the planet Jupiter and the recent impact it experienced
-Space in general
-politics in general

It's the gaps in logic I find sexiest. Nothing spells hunk like an argument funded on quicksand. Rowr!

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.

Anything related to chocolate is worth overdoing. I must know, I overdosed several times.
And since it's actually on topic, chocolate is an ongoing interest of mine.

Heh. We do live in an endlessly fascinating universe, I think. :)

Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
yes.gif

I really feel like thirding this. It's just something I love to realize from time to time.
