What are you doing/did you do New Year's Eve?

As oftens happens, Hubby was working--which means he gets home around 9pm. Made a sandwich for dinner and one for Hubby when he gets home. Not the most exciting evening, but it doesn't really matter. We'll celebrate when he gets home.

Anyone else have a quiet night?

Currently 10:30pm...waiting for my roommate to get off work. He works at a restaurant, so he has no idea how late he'll actually be there. So far, I've spent my New Year's Eve cleaning the house.

I went to the movies today and now I'm watching the Kings Hockey game. It's been a calm new years eve so far.

I spent it at home with family. I've only ever gone out once for NYE (not counting when I had to work) and that was to a 21st. I'm fine with watching the Sydney fireworks on TV

Watching my favorite episode of the Twilight Zone, the Midnight Sun.

Watched Doctor Zhivago for the first time since I saw it in the theater in 1965! I enjoyed it enormously, but now the music -- mostly Lara's theme -- is totally stuck in my head.

Drove out to visit my Mom this weekend, wife is out of town. Had a quiet night of movies and board games.

I'm not much of a party animal, and if the town I lived in were any more laid back it'd be comatose. Usually I do a marathon of long movies during the change-over. This year I borrowed my brother's copy of the uncut, 5-hour version of Das Boot. It's been more than twenty-five years since I saw the movie version, and I'm having a blast watching it right now.

Played a game of Settlers of Catan with my parents and then some video games. Good night.

I watched lots of Dexter last night, before putting on the fireworks around ten minutes before midnight. Very relaxing night.

Spent it on Observatory/Blackford Hill in Edinburgh, watching the Hogmanay fireworks. Far better spectacle than the middle of town, and cheaper too!

I went with my fiancée at a couple of friends' house: delicious food, stiff drinks, excellent company. We did fireworks at midnight, and then spent the rest of the night playing board games (Mansions of Madness, a Lovecraft-inspired game). Fantastic evening.

And I will daresay, I looked smashing. Even the stalk of celery (which I added to my jacket's lapel after a series of interesting drinks) never seemed out of place.

Went to a Greek restaurant for some awesome lamb shanks and veal chops. Finished off with a bottle of bubbly - watched the ball drop and welcomed in the New Year......appropriately.

Uh...Hubby got home, ate, and we watched some tv. I went to bed, he joined me, and we watched a bit more tv. I fell asleep before midnight.

I feel old.

Daughter and I went to Medieval Times in Dallas. Fun. Stayed n a motel close by, so we actually walked to the venue. A good way to begin after a couple of not so good years.

Mrs. 1001001 and I made dinner at home, drank some champagne, and watched a Castle marathon.

Pretty timid, now that we're old and busted.

Seems like a lot of people decided to stay in and watch marathons of shows. Is that the new celebration for New Years Eve. If so that makes me happy in that I never go out on New Years eve, even though there are times when I really want to.

Quiet evening in eating pizza, drinking irish coffee and watching Cowboys and Aliens. It was a good evening. Snuggled under the duvet by 10.30.
