Reading about steppes history. It is very fascinating. Wars have been fought there in the Eurasian Heartlands ever since humans arrived there. The Indo-European, Finno Uralic, Turks and Mongols were among the people groups that originated from that place. The Kievan Rus (Vikings) fighting the Pechenegs (Turkic), as seen below, was one of many, many conflicts in that place.

Time to cook a batch of chocolate chip pancakes, I will cook enough for the week. I put the first six batches cooked in the pan in ziploc sandwich size bags and place them in the refrigerator, then I eat the last batch with sugar-free syrup for today's late breakfast.

Pulled more weeds in the vegetable garden, while the temperature was still in the "cool" 90Fs. I'll have to go out near sunset and look for caterpillars in my tomato vines. As they say on Dune, "I have worm sign" chewed leaves and caterpillar droppings on the other leaves below. When the sky starts to get gray, at dusk, there is more contrast between the green caterpillars and the vegetation.
