What are you doing at this moment?

everything seemed to go well. Hubby's napping right now; I think the stress about it was worse than the actual procedure.

That’s great to hear! I hope the recovery goes well!

Was a pretty quick procedure

Was it laser? As someone who’s had laser, cryo, and... well, for the more squeamish readers I’ll just say “other more invasive procedures”, laser is by FAR the best!

(Yes, my eyes are terrible, why do you ask?)

I’m having an anxiety attack. Everything makes me anxious these days. Like everything that needs to be done in the house, but I’m supposed to be resting, but I can’t rest while so much is to be done. So I’m stressed about not getting the rest I need and not getting the house work done. So I distract myself with something creative, but I lose interest in that, and start something new instead, but the unfinished thing could well be my very own magnificent octopus, so I should really focus on that, so it’s become a task to complete, even though I’ve lost interest, and the whole point of it was to distract me with something fun.

I also made the mistake of checking my heart rate with my wife’s Fitbit. Nuts.

I'm sorry you're going through that.

This is me to a "T" lately.

Moping, unproductively, round the house.

Listening to the rain patter on the window, the neighbour’s fence banging against its concrete post in the wind, and the low whine of the washing machine.

Giving some small consideration to that pile of washing up,

That’s three things at the same time.

And also the key ingredients to mindfulness :)

Getting up the motivation to take the clothes out of my washer and put them in my dryer.

Pulling myself, ripping myself even, from my dankly funk to get myself out the house and in to the car. Got kids to pick up, wife to pick up, groceries to pick up. And maybe some wine.

Understood. I wish more people did.

Me: Gathering motivation to go downstairs and pully my clothes out of the dryer, wash my hair, and take a bit of a sponge bath (still not able to take showers due to my toe wound). Then I'll wait for my mom to pick me up for my pre-op appointment for my surgery on Monday, depending on if this NP wants additional tests given my symptoms a couple of days ago.
