I was already on my way to bed when I remembered that I defrosted some beef which needs to get cooked before it spoils. So I cooked a nice beef stew and don't dare to go to bed as long as the stove is still hot. My potholders' plastic hooks tend to drop off the wall, and if one hits a hot hob it might catch fire. So I never leave the stove unattended until it is luke warm. Better safe (and an hour later in bed) than sorry.

I’m at a self service laundrette because it’s bank holiday and we weren’t organised enough to get to the proper laundrette.
I haven’t done the numbers, but I think it’s cheaper to have the clothes washed, dried, ironed and folded, than to have to sit in a rainy car park watching out for someone trying to steal my clothes from the drier.
