Right now I'm doing laundry and getting ready for game 2 of the World Series. Oy. I hate fireworks with a passion. IMHO, private ownership of fireworks should be banned and placed under some kind of penalty, such as death. Fuck 'em. People want to see fireworks, go see a professional fireworks show and shut the fuck up. Some of us like to actually SLEEP. When July 4 comes around I flee my neighborhood. It's like Iwo Jima around here. It literally goes ALL.NIGHT.LONG. This past 4th, I stayed at a hotel for the night. And I'll do it again.
Moving some games on my steam account to another drive to clear some space. Also thinking about lunch.
Listening to game 5 of the WS. I'm actually for the Rangers in the series but I'm kinda hoping the Diamondbacks win this game, so the Rangers can win the series at home.
The guy from the repair department came to inspect the things that should be fixed to make an invoice, hopefully the price is low and my landlord pays it.
With eyes bleeding and teeth screaming, checking the latest on The Ukraine, Gaza, Climate Change, American "Politics" and every other little goddamn thing that is going on......but I got my bagel and peanut butter, so there is that!
I know, but...sometimes it goes like this for me. I am NOT gonna watch it...I watch it...I am NOT gonna watch it...I watch it...
An old school friend emigrated to New Zealand a few weeks ago and I keep telling myself it's not like I'll never see him again. He still has family here so could visit and it's not like I can't visit him for a holiday. I think he's looking for a career change so will be interesting to see what he decides to do when he's settled in there.
See, back 300 Million years ago, when New Zealand was part of Gondwanaland,. the birds, see, they didn't have to fly as far...and there was no Air New Zealand...or email...but the birds, see... Seriously, @Malicia, I hope all goes well for your friend and for you...I remember having the same thoughts when I left the Middle East and had to leave my friends from Australia, New Zealand South Africa and other places. We all had to change locations, and some of us did change careers...!
Cheers, I'm positive he will find something more enjoyable and it could be worlds apart from practicing law which he has said he has grown to hate. Everything about it he dislikes to the point of wanting to find a new profession and I suggested something like landscape gardening or building. Something that embraces the outdoors. We were in the same class at school and the same band so have had a lot of japes together. His wife is from New Zealand and they were talking about moving there to be closer to her parents and siblings for a few years so it's good for them both to finally do it. Mixed feelings leading up to the move but still delighted for them and there's an open invitation to visit them anytime.
Sitting in the Dreaded Service Department, looking (not) forward to a Big Fat Service Bill. Not unexpected, as she has almost 200,000 miles on her, but who knew Space Dock could be so expensive?!?!?!
